well it seems that my hcg lvls havent decreased at all and tbh i think the hospital have got it wrong...... on sunday i went into the hospital and my hcg lvls were 679 and a cb digi said i was 1-2 weeks i went in on tuesday and apparently my hcg lvls were 379 so they thought i was having a early mc.......i took a cb digi last night and this morning with my morning wee and they both have said im 2-3 weeks now if my hcg were lower than sunday then surely the pregnancy test would show 1-2 weeks or more than likely not pregnant......some women i have spoken to say they lose their symptoms straight away after a mc and that they just feel empty and i havent felt any of this and have told the hospital over and over and also my parents that i dont feel any different i still feel pregnant and have done since tuesday when the hospital told me i had a mc............so im pretty damn sure im still pregnant and it shows how intune i am with my body.......im sorry im rambling on but my head is just all over the place....

So sorry to hear this, jaylee Sad. I suppose it is your body dealing with what was likely inevitable.

I hope you will heal physically and emotionally quickly. Look after yourself.

any news?

JezzaJ9 · 17/01/2011 15:57

Hi Jaylee,

I really hope its good news for you but this is how it happened to me:

Thurs
I was 8.5 weeks PG and started to spot in the morning no cramping at all, but I panicked and called the EPU they said sit tight unless the bleeding got heavier and darker. By the early afternoon it had go heavier. So I went to the EPU unit, they did an internal scan as I had not drunk any water at all and they said that I was either alot earlier in my pregnancy, was in the early stages of a MC or Eptopic, and I had to go away and see what happens and be scanned a week later to see if the fetus had grown.
Fri and Sat, the bleeding got worse, I had to go to A&E and they ended up removing a clump and I was admitted over night and told to come back on Monday as my hormone levels had increased since the Thursday.
Mon
Back to the hospital, the fetus was style the same size but my hormone levels had dropped by half. They said if I wanted they could recommend a DnC or could come back on Thursday for a scan to see if it had passed naturally because my levels had dropped they were happy not to wait week. But I too did a clearblue and it still said I was pregnant by 3+, I think I was clutching at straws :(

By the time Thursday came their was nothing left.

I really hope the outcome for you is different but I was told that the clear will still pick up on the hormone but if they drop at that stage the pregnancy is not developing.

Thinking of you
x

PacificDogwood · 17/01/2011 14:25

Wishing you all the best and lots of strength for today, jaylee.

Thinking of you today x

banana87 · 16/01/2011 11:54

Jaylee I read your other thread where you bled heavily :( I think the others are right and you've had a mc. Hormones double every 24 hours, so it would make sense for CB digital to say you are 2-3 pregnant, as it takes some time for hormone levels to drop after mc. I think you should probably prepare yourself as your blood tests results (which are far more accurate than HPTs) coupled with heavy bleeding are likely to indicate you have miscarried. So sorry for your loss :(

hairyfairylights · 16/01/2011 10:17

The digi preg test will be picking upmthe small
amount of hcg that is in your body. Blood tests are
a much clearer indicator.

hairyfairylights · 16/01/2011 10:13

If at six weeks your hcg is dropping by half it's very very unlikely to be a viable pregnancy.

I am so sorry.

It may be a missed miscarriage. It may not be thriving properly. It may be non tubal ectopic. Wait and see how your next hcg levels are if not doubling every 24 hours you are facing a non viable pregnancy.

sunshine76 · 16/01/2011 01:54

Just to share some information from my miscarriage (at 11weeks), I had my hgc taken at the hospital and the level was approx 5400, my dr said this would be right for a five or six week pregnancy (by this point I had all ready miscarried).

I know it is tough but you might need to listen to what your dr's are telling you and prepare yourself, the false hope can be torture.

WickedWitchSouthWest · 16/01/2011 01:42

I'm so sorry you're going through this :(

if you really dont trust St Micks, why not get your care transferred southmead instead? Or if you're out of Bristol, there's an epu at Weston general too iirc.

Take care, hope Monday brings you your miracle x

Lougle · 16/01/2011 00:40

Did you drink lots before your second blood test? That can dilute the sample enough to cause a drop in hCg.

My friend had a blood test and was told she wasn't pregnant at all, following a +ve POAS. She asked about having had a drink, and was told it wasn't possible to make a difference.

Anyhow, they repeated the sample at her request, and saw that she was pregnant.

I think at this stage it doesn't make any difference, tbh. If you are going to miscarry, it will happen Sad. If it doesn't happen, they will have to rescan you to see if a D&C is necessary. If they rescan you and find a baby, that will be wonderful. If not, you will have your answer Sad

OracleInaCoracle · 16/01/2011 00:09

is someone going with you on monday?

OracleInaCoracle · 15/01/2011 22:22

the problem is (and I am trying to put this as delicately as possible) what happened to those women is purely anecdotal. HCG levels can vary quite a bit I hope you get your miracle though x

jaylee89 · 15/01/2011 22:20

yes i can go to southmead but its so far away.....tbh i wouldn care if i had to travel 50000 miles i need to put my mind at rest......ill will let you know how monday goes thank you for all your posts xxx
