Father's Day

Who else is relieved that Father's Day will be over this weekend and that they don't have to grit their teeth while helping DC prepare for it?

I'm down 3 cards, 3 gifts, wrapping paper and bought ingredients etc so that dc2 could bake him Star Wars biscuits. Angry(She's a teen so did all the baking but still...)

Enjoyed the process of making cookies with dc2 but having to spend money and time on crap ex while acting upbeat for the kids has been exhausting.

Before anyone asks for Mother's Day I give them money to buy me a gift so they can feel good/normal.

She's text him this morning

I would take her out for lunch but don't want to be surrounded by families

Any suggestions?

I bought a small gift and dd2 made a card. Exh is away working they are well used to him being absent but dd2 asked for him today which is unusual and was a bit sad.
They made cards for my lovely dp though and agreed he is a good daddy

Yup. I've bought some cuff-links and the DC have made a card and painted pots. He 'might have them for an hour' Hmm

I forget it's fathers day here. XP is long gone and my dad died a few years ago. It's strange being out of the loop of a major celebration.

emo bloody hell. Hope your 12 yo is ok tomorrow.

My children's father doesn't have time to see them because he's spending the day with his girlfriend and her children (not his)

I'm trying to manage our 12 year old's emotions
14 year old figured him out a few years ago
