My primary age child has work send via an app with communication with teacher via chat when needed.

Being sent 3 items of work a day and also have printed work sheets etc...

Older DC are told to log into an app. They've had 1 piece of work in days.

I honestly don't know what to do to get them work. Had no I for in where to go etc..

Any ideas please 😩

I’m good with life skills and general learning, and I am not going to contact the school until next week because I know they’re all scrambling to get sorted.

I’m just worrying that next year kids will be sitting exams, and some will have had proper teaching for this whole term, and others won’t. I am worrying about this because that’s much nicer than worrying about the 3 people in my household with underlying health conditions...

The white rose maths site has daily lesson videos with an activity to do after watching. Up to year 8.

Check the app. Ds didn't realise his teachers were not all setting assignments. Some were telling the students what to do through the chat functionality and he had a bit too catch up on. Tell your ds to sent a chat to each teacher dating they can't see any work, what should they be doing.

DS has work set in each subject. Unfortunately he's not coping at all with not being in school and is having a melt down/ panic attack every time he looks at the work. He usually has one:one help in class and I'm really struggling!

Shannarariger this is exactly how we our with out Ds. It was agreed that he spend time on one subject a day but they keep pressuring for it all to be done ! He has routine in school and a learning support assistant . No way can I do this at home . He's also going through the normal adolescent stage of not wanting me around so I can't even sit with him to help him learn ?

If you really want to challenge them, especially your eldest, I'd recommend having a look at oxplore.org/ which gives you an in-depth look at certain topics and gives your DD ways to think around the topic. As someone who took the Critical Thinking AS, it was super helpful to adapt to A-Level!

Also, getting her to look at the syllabus for her A-Level course, if she knows it, can be helpful as she can do her work in preparation (as there'll be reading lists listed there!)

@Shannaratiger Please let his teachers know about this- I would want to know if one of my students felt this way. Unfortunately, it's very hard to tell what's going on on the other side of a computer screen.

They may be able to offer some differentiated work well within his abilities, or just give him a few bits to focus on?

Maybe try his form tutor first? Or the SENCO?

Is there a particular subject he enjoys/finds easier? Could he try starting that one first?
