How often do you change your pjs? And towels?

How often do you/dc change your pyjamas?
I normally change my top every night (although I've been told that's excessive) and my pj bottoms every 3-4 days - bearing in mind I DO wear knickers in bed which I think is relevant.

Also, while we're here, how often do you change your bath towels?
I change about once a week (used once a day).

I LOVE a good washing thread!
Clean Pjs every night
Bedding one a week
Use Bath towels twice before washing. Pot towels every day, sometimes use two a day.
This is why I do 12 loads of washing a week isn't it?

I see no-one has given me a good solid reason as to why I should be airing my fanjo.

I always thought that this was related to the risk of thrush increasing if your vagina is too warm and moist. The body gets hot during the night due to a combination of the duvet, being next to a partner and the body heat that is generated between two people so I would assume that going knicker less at night helps to keep the vagina cool and lessening the risk of thrush.
I would have thought that wearing knickers AND pj bottoms in bed creates too much heat and therefore creates the perfect breeding ground for an overload of thrush inducing bacteria. Maybe I'm wrong.
In any case, I like to sleep totally naked as I hate feeling restricted by garments in bed so whether the thrush thing is a myth or not it wouldn't affect me.

I do exactly the same as you, Daddypigsgusset (gross name, btw :o )

I line dry everything when I can, or tumble dry/clothes horse.

I change hand towels daily. If there are four people in your house, I'd conservatively estimate they're using the towel five times a day (lets say 3 or 4 times after using the loo through the course of the day and then washing their hands before dinner for example) so thats 20 times a day that the towel is getting wet, then drying a bit, then getting wet. And although your hands are clean, there are dead skin cells, and the bacteria love to feast on them, so whilst I wouldn't consider myself a clean freak I think a daily change of the hand towel is the bare minimum I'd want. Nothing worse than drying your hands on a towel only to discover that your newly washed hands have a manky towel smell.

All I'm saying is knickers, with pyjamas? I like to think my fanjo gets an airing at night!

I think I'm totally repressed, I hate the thought of sleeping naked, or not wearing knickers at night. I remember when I had a catheter in after my c section, one of the things that upset me most was that I couldn't wear knickers Blush

Pyjamas every 3 days. I don't believe you need to change them every day in the same way that you do with knickers, because speaking graphically, you get more fluid activity in your gusset during the day than you do at night, assuming you sleep through and aren't up and down to the toilet. I also shower before bed, if I didn't do that, I'd probably be hanging them every other day.

Bedsheets once a week in cool weather, twice a week in very hot weather, though.

Norudeshitrequired I keep my vagina cool by not having a partner, so less body heat generated Grin

Seriously though, I could not go without knickers because...well...I get a lot of 'fluid activity' there.

whethergirl I've recently gone from wearing knickers under PJs to none under PJ because I have started showering at night. I get less of that sort of activity now I do this.
My Pj's changed every few days
DS changed daily as if he manages not to wet them at night his first morning wee does and if they escape that then breakfast gets them
Sheets fortnightly. I'd love to do them weekly but we use cloth nappies so have quite a lot of washing
Towels at least once a week because I like having my own towel and OH just grabs what ever and I get a bit ragey and wash all the towels.

I live in my pyjamas. I wear clothes for the few hours I'm out of the house, then bra and clothes get whipped off, comfy jammies put on the minute I walk through the door. I'm normally changed before dh has a chance to take his shoes off! Pjs get changed every other day as a result, and I've got about 4 pairs on rotation. Normally sleep in the nuddy so bed sheets and towels get changed quite frequently (leaky boobs and sweats post baby), probably about 3 times a week, hand towels changed pretty much daily as I have visits from dn who, at 2yo struggles to wash his hands properly (understandably), so whilst he's learning I try to change the towel regularly. I wrap baby's bed in a fresh muslin at night where his face is, and put him to sleep in a sleeping bag so can change his sheets once a week.
