IPod just for music?

MY DCs screen time is limited and monitored. I really hate the idea of them having internet access in their bedrooms or playing games all night.

So, they don't have any screens in their rooms, which means DS1 can't listen to his ipod touch in his bedroom. Is there a solution? I have considered the tiny iPod (Shuffle?) but when listening to that, is the track identified? (this is apparently very important!)

Maybe I'm not as clever as I thought then. DS1 is smart enough to know he'll lose it if he accesses games out of hours. DS2 on the other hand, I caught him accessing the Internet on my old kindle, and for the 18 months I'd used it I didn't even know it had Internet on it.

There aren't any pre-loaded simple games? Like on my old phone?

A nano has no Internet. You need to connect to iTunes to add anything so you, the parent would control what was on it.

Hmm, I thought so Hulababy, thank you, but a foolish little bird told me there are some games on that?

You need the Nano to be able to see and select tracks.

I've thought of doing that Alicia, but aren't there still games that can be played without internet? DS1 seems to be able to use the screen part of his Touch when we are away from home?

I just turn off the wifi on DS' touch, that way he gets to listen to his music but not tempted by other stuff. Strict control of screen time here too.

(obv the gogear won't be cool enough for our kids though!)

No it's not, there isn't a screen.

Dd (9) has one, and I have to say, she never puts it down. I am Smile as she's developing her own taste in music and yes, it gets her away from the PC!

I have a Philips gogear, which was cheap as chips and does have a screen and shows the track. About £30.
