we do not eat them here as potatos do not feature unless it's a rare trip to the chippy.
But I am sure chips are fine in moderation!!!
I just do not like them myself

Poshpaws · 02/03/2005 17:37

Averages about once a week (DH and I only, as we eat late when DS is in bed) and they are from the chippie.

Lurve chips - know they are BAD for you - don't care

SeaShells · 02/03/2005 17:40

I sometimes have them everyday!

astonmartin · 02/03/2005 17:46

Seashells your a girl after my own hreat, but thats a bit Naughty, naughty but very nice!
I think if it wasn't for the kids, trying to feed them good foods, i would be eating chips every night too

Maybe once a month at home. If we are out, we generally always have something and chips, but at home its salad or jacket potato.

Demented · 02/03/2005 17:51

Almost never. Although have a bag in freezer for DSs to have with their fish fingers perhaps once a month.

binkybetsy · 02/03/2005 17:52

We don't eat them unless it's a treat at the fish shop or at the seaside. I don't cook them at home ever, because I hate the way the house smells of chip fat afterwards.

Keane · 02/03/2005 17:52

oven chipa arent that fattening? do you mean fried chips?

SPARKLER1 · 02/03/2005 17:53

We tend to just have them from the chip shop as a treat on rare occasions. Have had a bag of frozen oven chips in the freezer for ages but haven't touched them. Don't actually like oven chips all that much. We don't have a deep fat fryer so can't cook them any other way.

princesspeahead · 02/03/2005 17:54

never. never even cooked oven chips

Demented · 02/03/2005 17:55

I'm just not overly fussed on them. Quite like the sort you get with a really nice pub lunch and occasionally from the chippie, but they have to be good, hate soggy, greasy ones.

astonmartin · 02/03/2005 17:56

Yes greasy Fried fat chips!!!

happymerryberries · 02/03/2005 17:58

Never 'proper' chips, don't have a pan to do them in. Seldom have oven chips as we are on the GI diet. Kids get oven chips once or twice a week

SeaShells · 02/03/2005 17:59

I love all chips, especially home made fried greasy ones, or oven chips with a very generous helping of mayonnaise! Yum!

My kids eat better than I do! I don't feed my kids chips, they don't like them!

Tinker · 02/03/2005 18:00

Have them from the chippy at once a week - love 'em.

Hulababy · 02/03/2005 18:01

We have low fat oven chips a couple of times a week. And very occasionally chip shop chips. I adore chips, especially with ketchup 2yo DD bizarrely doesn't like chips at all!

WideWebWitch · 02/03/2005 18:03

Tinker · 02/03/2005 18:05

This thread is making me want chips NOW

sparklymieow · 02/03/2005 18:06

I don't as I don't like chips but the kids have chips about once a week

astonmartin · 02/03/2005 18:06

chips wouldn't be right with a peace of bread and butter

Hulababy · 02/03/2005 18:06

LOL Tinker - was thinking the same. DH is in a bar right now having a so-called work meeting (!) - reckon he'd grab some fish and chips on way home???
