Protein breakfasts but without eggs?

Hi all,

I'm trying to find a range of healthy (ish) protein based breakfasts, but without eggs as no one in our family likes them. Everything on the web just seems to bring them up when I search... does anyone have any ideas? Thank you!

I’m Indian origin and I could write you a whole list because in India eggs are considered non-vegetarian. But the top 3 ones are:
  1. Moong dal Chilla - so, so easy to make. Just soak moong dal overnight (any type either the skinned or with skin) and then blend to a paste in the morning. Season. They make lovely savoury crepes and are ridiculously high in protein.
  1. Moong dal dhokla. Made in the same way as the pancakes but instead of frying the batter, you pour the mixture into a steamer (i put in small glass bowls in a manual steamer). They have the texture of polenta or semolina cake.
  1. Black beans pureed with sugar, banana, and chocolate is a lushious desert. You can add a little xanthum gum and refridgerate overnight for an amazing mousse. Black beans take any flavour but if you want to go sweet then opt for dried beans that you soak and boil yourself.

There’s a bread called Seedful which I like - high protein and low carb. No gluten either. I have it toasted with peanut butter and sliced banana or a few raspberries on top - really tasty. It’s a bit pricey though but dense so one slice is enough.

Greek yoghurt - with fruit, on porridge, in a smoothie

Nut butter - on porridge, in a smoothie, on toast

I sometimes have hummus and cucumber on a wholemeal pitta when I feel like something savory

Beans on toast

Some of the more expensive fish options have been mentioned, but can I add:
Tinned salmon mashed with mayonaisse and herbs, on toast or, if low-carbing as well, with celery sticks or lettuce.
Tinned sardines mashed with a little vinegar are delicious on toast.
Pate - again, on toast or I've found this works with celery sticks too. Yes, even for breakfast.

I prefer Skyr to Greek yogurt. It’s even higher in protein, slightly thicker and less tangy, kind of like crème fraîche. My dc will eat the Arla strawberry skyr which they say is a bit like Petit Filous.

I sometimes have dal, curry or chilli for breakfast.

Ham and cheese crepes are good too (I don't eat meat myself)

Houmous or lentil pate on toast would be good.

Anything with nuts, so muesli.

As you don’t like eggs does this include pancakes etc? Trying to get an idea of what is excluded before giving recipe ideas.

I put raw organic egg in my smoothies. Yum.

I can’t eat dairy so other breakfast options - fish, nuts, seeds, leftover meat from previous night, hemp seed protein powder.

I have found my people. I've tried so many times to "make" myself like eggs and wind up wretching. I think I have some sort of genetic thing - can smell fuschias and asparagus wee, can't tolerate eggs or sprouts!

I think eggs are quite particular, I like them myself but completely understand why others don't. I don't think you could easily 'learn' to like them due to texture.

I also don’t like eggs! I’ll eat them in a pancake or cake but not by itself.
So my offering is berry pancakes made with added protein powder. You can make a sheet pancake in the oven, cut it into slices and it will keep in the fridge for a few days. Easy to warm up or have cold.

I don't mind eggs in things at all - like pancakes, because you can't taste the eggs. Happy to have them mixed into something like a cake (although that goes directly against the 'healthy-ish' criteria, but I'm definitely open to options!)

I've recently discovered quark as an alternative to Greek yoghurt, it's delicious. Slightly higher protein, less salt and creamier/less tangy than Greek yoghurt. They do them in with the yoghurts in different flavours or plain in with the cottage cheese. If yo7 get the plain then you can either add berries and seeds for a sweet breakfast or use it like soft cheese on toast or in a risotto.
