Conception

First ever tww!

Hi all, so I'm about to start my first ever tww - well my app says today is my last day of my fertile window, so will probably have a cheeky dtd tonight! But my period is due a week Sunday on 26 April, so it's two weeks exactly from now.

Is anyone else at the same point in their cycle and want to join me? I haven't bought any pg tests as I only want to take one if my period is late rather than testing at the earliest opportunity - all part of my (trying to be) relaxed approach to ttc. I'm not hopeful it's happened this month though, what with it being our first try and me having way too much to drink over the weekend which was my fertile window, I'm sure it will have stopped anything happening!

Feeling your frustration ladies!
Ovulated a week ago and been experiencing cramping and brown spotting for 2 days. I've got a headache I can't shift, super thirsty and bloated.
Not due AF until Monday :(

Hi all, just read the thread and symptom spotting too. Think I must be 7 DPO, so unlikely to have any symptoms even if was pregnant. Argghh! It's only first month for me too...I've gone nuts already Confused

Sounds like we aren't going to have a lucky month this month :( I hope one of us succeeds at least!

I'm not due on until next saturday.

I tried to speak to OH about baby names and nurseries, etc. Psycho! He said he's excited but not overly enthusiastic about discussing in great detail. He sent me towards you ladies.

The 2ww is the biggest mind boggling wait ever...

Aww I talk about baby names all the time... Think OH just humors me most of the time. Haha. My sister is calling her little girl (due in May) Thea... So thankfully she has not picked any of my names What names do you like?

My boss is currently also pregnant and she doesn't want to find out what she is having but also won't tell any of us the names even though she has picked both of them!

Sorry for spamming... But wanted to say, My other sister has called her little girl Eyra. Very different. I love how the old names are coming back.

I'm glad it's not just me beckie. I think OH isn't keen to chat about it or get excited because he doesn't want me to be too disheartened if it takes a while.

I'm not sure what names I like yet but will probably pick something traditional.

You're right dreaming, I was feeling so sick yesterday. I'm sure it's in my head! How come we are taught it's so easy to get pregnant when actually it's a precise science!! Hmm

I've got a whole RAFT of symptoms even though I know that most likely I'm not actually pregnant. I'm not even sure if I ovulated this month Hmm

chelle you are so right - we go through life being given the impression that the slightest touch of sperm is going to get us pregnant instantly, but when you actually WANT to be pregnant you discover that it's really not that easy! Think I saw the statistic that in perfectly healthy couples having sex at exactly the right time (i.e. just before ovulation), only about 30% will conceive that cycle. So under normal conditions, you're waaaaaaay more likely to not get pregnant than get pregnant. Unfortunately for us!

smells did AF come?

lolipop how is it ever fair? OH told me a statistic... for a one night stand the chances of getting pregnant are 1 in 200,000. What an eye opener! Hmm

Hiiiii Smile can I join?
Currently in month 2 of TTC #3 and I'm 9dpo,
I've got loads of symptoms and I generally just 'feel' pregnant (if that's possible Hmm) the only time I have ever felt like this before is when I conceived my 2 girls eeeekkk!

But I'm probably just losing the plot and obsessing.
I hope we see some BFPs on this thread!

Hi all,

I'm also on my first TWW. What I hate the most is just not knowing my body anyway having been on some form of BC for the past 13 years. I've had one potentially normal 32 day cycle last month since stopping the mini-pill, but was there were 20 days between my all day cramps that used to mean AF would arrive exactly 14 days later.

OPK was positive 7/4 am but cramps didn't start until 9/4 pm so I am either 10 or 8 DPO. AF after 32 days due Sunday 25/4 or maybe Thursday going by my 2 week 'logic'....

I just want this month over with, so that I can get to know my body and cycle more.

We DTD every other day most of this month and my 'symptoms' are:

Constant ache/ cramping really low since about 8/6 DPO
A bit of pale brown discharge (spotting?) for couple of hours.
Increased appetite
Thirsty, which I never am,
Need the toilet more frequently and feel desperate but not.
A bit teary and short with DH. Never normally have (had) PMS.

The thing that makes me think I'm imagining it all is there's no change to my breasts.

Trying to hold off til Friday to POAS, knowing that a positive is unlikely at this stage and a negative will make no difference!

At least I'm back at work next week so haven't got as much time to imagine symptoms! Grr!

Fx to some BFP!

Another first 2ww here. Am 5dpo and AF due around 26th so at least another week of waiting ahead of me before it's sensible to test.

I'm 43 DP is 46, he's got grown up kids and a granddaughter. I have had 2 previous pregnancies so know (in theory) that I can get pregnant. We decided in September to start trying but has taken until now to get a +ve op test. GP arranged bloods last month and, predictably, AF arrived a week later. Going to see him about results on the 30th and would love to be able to give him news that I don't need help but a midwife appointment! !

Hi ladies, just catching up on the posts having been away with DH since Weds! Congratulations on your BFP Isla!

I'm about 6 or 7 days dpo, according to my app. Genuinely had slight nausea on Weds, Thurs and Fri morning/early afternoon but this seemed to disappear yesterday and today so sure it was something of nothing. As if i would have symptoms this early anyway!

I told myself I would only poas if my period was late, but I'm due on a week today and have a wedding party sat night. If I don't get any of the spotting which I usually do in the run up to af I'm tempted to poas on Sat so at least if it's negative I can have a drink (I've drank this weekend telling myself it would be too early to matter anyway). But would it be too early to poas the day before my period is due?? It will be day 27 of my cycle.

Due AF today. Had some spotting overnight and my body is gurgling/cramping/shifting as if AF were to arrive... But that would mean spotting for an entire week (on and off) prior to AF actually starting. My body can definitely do one if it thinks I'm putting up with that every month...! lol

How is everyone getting on? X

Busy symptom spotting here too. I'm due on Thurs, and have hot flashes and period cramps Hmm Pretty much waiting for AF now. At one point about 9dpo I was convinced I was pregnant. Feeling bit down about it now, but I also know it took nearly a year last time so I need to be patient!!

I was in a great mood this morning (especially considering its Monday!) but i got really tired this afternoon so came straight home to sit in the garden after work instead of hanging round for yoga - naughty!

I told myself I wouldn't go on these boards as it would fuel my obsession but I can't help myself! I'm 7 dpo based on my app, ad due Sun. Sometimes think I have symptoms (mainly lower belly/back cramps and a bit of nausea) but I know deep down I'm imagining them. Just want to get to the weekend really, as it's my 1st cycle I never thought I'd obsess like this!
