Christmas

Presents for 7 and 9 year old boys?! Help please!

I am very behind with Christmas planning (all parts, not just the kids presents) but they are the biggest stress! We've also just had the 7 year old's birthday where I used up my ideas! Confused

Please, Mumsnet, tell me what you are getting your boys for Christmas or what they have that they love. I openly admit to needing to ideas.

They both love gadgets and things that do something. Younger one loves space and football, older one is quite geeky but they both like a range of things.

So far I'm thinking Just Dance for the switch and a space projector. Then I am very stuck! Confused

Thanks both.

We have gravitax, nerf guns, alexas and snap circuits 🙈. It is a nightmare. Lovely that they are close in age but also doubly as difficult as over birthdays/Christmas they have accumulated a lot of the things I find online. I need a Christmas miracle!

They both seem to lack the staying power to follow through on Lego, I end up having to finish it or it stays in a box!

Scooters are a maybe but the younger one has some dexterity issues and I worry about that ending badly!

Hexbugs kitchen and rhino hero would be perfect games for their ages. Play together of with family

Things for their room?

Do either like a particular programne/film? My dd started collecting funko pop figures around that age. They have them for practically everything!

Magazine/comic/geek box/roblox/baking subscription.

Dd1 loved beano, phoenix comic at that age.

Wireless headphones.

Squishmallow soft toy, dd loves hers for leaning on or snuggling on the sofa.

Fleece blanket.

Metal detector.

Telescope.

Go for an experience gift but wrap up a clue in a big box.

Games - my dd2 is 7, her favorites are jenga, exploding kittens, catventures, payday, game of life, scrabble, guess who, snakes and ladders, no more llamas. I have bought her a classic compendium, rush hour, ok play, junior colour brain for Christmas.

Baking/cooking Hamper- with fun cutters/moulds. I got dd1 stitch themed stuff from primark. She loves a biscuit or cake.

Milk Heater/frother was a massive hit last year, use all the time for hot chocolate. Wrap up with new mugs, marshmallows etc.

In the same token, waffle maker, popcorn maker, toastie maker (my dds got very excited when my sister gave us one!).

I assume they have bikes? If not, a lightweight Frog bike did wonders for getting my less dexterous son riding.

I have two boys who are the exact same ages, 7 and 9. My youngest turns 8 just a few days before Christmas. I have the same struggle usually as we have most of the things people suggest and with them being close in age it’s even more tricky for the younger one as often toys get passed down.

I started early and have finished my Christmas shopping for my two. Here is what they are getting, hope this helps:

Illuminated apparel tshirt
Candy sushi
Optical illusions book
Spy vault and door buzzer kit
Architech create your own smart house
Smart light bulb

DS 7:
Drone home game
Roblox adopt me figure set
Illuminated apparel tshirt
Candy sushi
Hot wheels gorilla smash set
Chocolate lolly maker
Joke book
Smart lightbulb
Jurassic world Dino bath fizzed eggs

My boys are 9 and 7 too.

9yo is getting a kindle with stop motion animation app and digital drawing app. Plus Beano and Dandy annuals, great art supplies, and weirdly a box of scrap wood and tools to mess about with. Plus a Wreck This Journal and a game (Poetry for Neanderthals) and some joke presents. Both boys also kickbox so are getting a punchbag between them.

7yo isn’t getting a big present as he doesn’t want one. He likes D.C. Superhero girls so is getting four more dolls and some books linked to the series too. He loves doing his dolls’ hair so he’s getting a box of hair supplies (Kirby grips, pintail comb, setting spray, paper straws to do curls with), cool felt tip pens, I spy books and a torch.

Have you heard of/considered a Raspberry Pi? I've bought the Raspberry pi 400 for my 8 yo, it's a computer in a keyboard.

The imaginext rocket is brilliant and you could get one on eBay.
Mine are getting an Xbox this year so just little bits other than that. Last year remote control cars were big hits here.
