Books on the Elgin Marbles for DS 10

I admit this is random, but DS 10 is a mad keen reader and interested in the Elgin Marbles/Greek mythology.

Can anyone suggest any books which talk about this sort of thing? He's bright so ignore the age, if that helps!

www.goodreads.com/book/show/43386.Imperial_Spoils and one by King titles Elgin .marbles. I’ve not read either of them so can’t help there.

For something more in a general archaeological direction I’d look at DK books first. For mythology there are several usborne collections. Also Michael Gibson books and Rosemary Sutcliff rewrote Iliad/odyssey for children. Of the proper versions, Odyssey is easier to read than the Iliad. I had a Time Quest book by Sara Bisel about the eruption of Vesuvius which I loved when I was that kind of age.
