My vbac was pretty similar to my first labour, started off ok. First stage was about 15 hrs. I dont remember any pain in my scar though. Like my first labour it was in second stage that things started to go wrong. They left me pushing for 3 and half hours (which Im sure they are not supposed to do with a vbac, or any labour) I remember several points the mw shouting in to the corridor that they needed a doctor in here quick but no docotors were available. When one finally did come he decided he could get ds2 out by turning him with forceps. I asked cant I just have a section (which is surprising as I was so upset my first section)he said no he thinks we can do it this way so I agreed. They took me into threatre and started with the forceps. I lost so much blood that I passed out just before he yanked ds2 out. I then had a lot of stitches both internally and externally. I also had stitches on my bum cheeck, no where near where he should of been.
After it was all over the doctor came to see me and he seemed really pleased with himself and said I told you we would do it and avoid another section. I was too exhausted to reply, but when I put in my birth plan I wanted a vbac and wanted to avoid a section if possible I didnt mean at all cost. I would of rather they realised earlier that the labour was going down similar route to my first and done a section earlier with a epidural so I didnt miss the the birth again, I missed my first one as the section was an emergency and they gave me a ga.
Next time I am definnetly going for a planned section. Hope I not put you off but you did ask. Lots of people have successful vbac's. I suppose one thing to consider is why you had the section the first time. Hope you make the right decision for you.
