I run a fitting station here at my own home in Denmark. I have 8 seats on display incl. the Maxi Cosi Mobi.
While fitting a rearfacing stage 1 and 1+2 seat is easy for me, I can see trouble piling up for unkowing parents.
It is my experience that you don´t need a huge car as the seats are all different and need different amount of room front to back. Cars are also different, and so are people. What goes in one car does not go in the next.
It is no secret that these large rearfacing seats need more room front to back than forwardfacing ones. Still that does not exclude the rearfacing ones from small cars. Some of them DO fit nicely in small cars.
Mobi is an excellent seat that I find easy to use and easy to install in cars. But that´s me.
So knowing that these seats offer 5 times better protection in crashes, I have set up this fitting station at my own home, where parents can be introduced to the seats, see them, felle them, let their babies try them and most importantly receive guidance on how to fit them correctly in their own car.
Finding the right spot in the car.
Finding out if it takes too much room front to back.
Finding out if the child likes it or not.
Finding out wether or not a particular seat can be safely installed.
Info on things to look out for regarding correct usage etc.
other dangers in the car such as loose objects, unrestrained cargo in the boot.
And letting the parent install the seat of their choice themselves while receiving the necessary guidance.
These setas need to be professionally fitted the first time.
