I'm tired of my shapeless nursing bras and want some underwired ones.Search of previous threads suggests Anita are quite good and are only sold online. In fact all the nice ones seem to be online..Has anyone bought these bras and if so where were you fitted?I want to kn ow if the sizing in,say,John Lewis corresponds. My plan is to get fitted in a shop then buy online, maybe even try ebay so returns might be difficult. Thanks

This site seems to have a 32j? here
I heard they come up small. I'm hoping my boobs have shrunk enough to try one, but fear the back may be too big...

I found the Anita bra comes up really small, I am wearing a panache 32hh but the Anita 32i is too small and it is the biggest size they do Sad

I've just bought the Anita one and like everyone says its amazing. It's actually so comfy that I'm not planning on throwing it away when I stop feedin and if my boobs shrink I will get it in a smaller size. Seriously it's that comfy. And I look like normal too, no more saggy uniboob.

Beatrix Potty: glad an Anita fitted you - envy, envy. No.2 on way and already depressed about the maternity bra drama...
ChunkyChicken: Jane who runs Envie4u was really helpful when I was looking; in the end I returned everything I bought because nothing fitted (36KK - At one point I had to lie on the living floor because I couldn't breathe under the weight!), but if you are in a 30G she'll probably be able to find you something and was really knowledgeable about the sizes etc... However, if it's shape you are looking for, I'm afraid converting your own might be the only way forward. It's pretty easy, if fiddly, and you do have to hoick your boobs out of the cups which is entertaining in public.

I have the underwired Anita nursing bras. I got measured up & they are not true to size for bigger sizes, as they are German and do not do double letters (ie no DD). Therefore if you are bigger than DD, you are one cup size up. They are also stretchy, so if you want them to last, you need a back size smaller. I am a 34E by measurement, but needed a 32F in these bras.

I definitely wouldn't get one without being professionally fitted.

Gregory that's my plan now I think. I'm about a 30G at the mo (I wasn't as big before, but seeing as I've never been fitted properly, I have NO idea what size I should have been, but was in a 32DD) and having struggled through trying ALL the nursing bras in that size, finding 1 style that was marginally better than the rest and trying every size from a 28FF to a 28HH & 30FF to a 30HH and having NONE fit, I'm going to try converting a normal but hopefully well-fitting bra.

I'm a 30GG but went up to a 36 KK when my milk came in and was a 32/30 HH for the first six months of breastfeeding. I bought maternity bra clips from ebay and just converted normal underwired bras.
Cons: lots of fiddly sewing, clips broke occasionally under enormous weight
Pros: could leave house without knockers round ankles, had some shape and dignity!

Update:been measured at Bravissimo 32h/34G.Anita in 34G arrived today, perfect fit, love it already. Also bought a Freya wire-free moulded bra in Bravissimo ,not a nursing bra but can easily breastfeed by pulling the cup to one side and gives really good support & shape.

I'm using Anita nursing bras, bought online and think they're good - but they do measure small in comparison to my pre nursing bras. As in, a good couple of cup sizes. I'm now fairly sure I'm in the wrong size though, so going to get measured tomorrow - hoping to try the bravissimo ones which have heard good things about. Good luck with your shopping!

Thanks chunky I hadn't even thought of Style &Beauty.I'll look on that website too.Whilst BF I usually go up to something like a 34G so Bravissimo is worth a look.

Have you looked in Style & Beauty at the bra threads?

Look at the betterbracampaign website to measure yourself "properly" & ask the experts on the bra threads fo4 guidance re; sizing.

I understand where you're coming from though. My DS is just 6mo & my boobs are finally settling down and I've tried about a dozen different bras & sizes trying to get ones that fit, all online shopping so you have to wait for delivery....

Try Bravissimo though, if you are a D+.

Loooooove the Anita ones. I was fitted in a Dublin department store that stocked a limited range and then have bought other colours online. Was pretty much the size I expected to be, they seem true to size.
