I think Maggie is lovely and a bit different! My first thought was of Maggie May rather than Thatcher! If you love it go for it OP!

TheWoollybacksWife · 14/06/2017 20:32

I like Maggie. I know a little girl called Maggie and the only thing I thought when her mum told me her name was "That's nice - she's called after her Granny" (Margaret) I was a teenager during Mrs T's reign of terror and I still didn't think of her first.

Alice is also lovely.

Redpramlady · 14/06/2017 21:07

Maggie! Go for the name you love

harderandharder2breathe · 14/06/2017 21:10

I prefer Alice, I think it goes well with your other DC names

pieceofpurplesky · 14/06/2017 21:13

Maggie Dawn (then you have a J,K,L and and M!)

weaselscanfly · 14/06/2017 21:13

Love, love, love Maggie. 💞 Not keen on any of the others at all. Maggie Dawn is just lovely.

Twooter · 14/06/2017 21:16

I love Maggie!

QODRestYeMerryGentlemen · 14/06/2017 22:07

Maggy. The y ending ties it in with Lucy and Katy

Mrsknackered · 14/06/2017 22:28

Maggie Dawn. Great name.

RuthB4 · 15/06/2017 04:25

I know an 8 year old Maggie - just Maggie, not Margaret. I think it's lovely!

ZuzuMyLittleGingersnap · 15/06/2017 05:08

Maggie Gyllenhaal was the association for me: she's renowned for being extremely cool and talented.

Leah Wood, muso daughter of Rolling Stones Ronnie, named her small DD Maggie.

Both these counterbalance any Thatcher nonsense Grin
(And how dare anyone question the name of Dame Maggie of Downton? Scandalous).

Seriously, though, I really like it.
Know a 3yr old one.

OhTheRoses · 15/06/2017 05:19

I though Margaret Thatcher was awesome. She was also known as Margaret in r/l , it was the press who nicknamed her Maggie.

Maggie is a diminutive of Margaret not a name in it's own right. Would be Alice or Emily for me. My preference is Alice Wink

Ojoj1974 · 15/06/2017 23:44

Maggie is GORGEOUS!!

MikeUniformMike · 15/06/2017 23:50

Maggy will just cause problems and sounds like what people call their fridge magnet. It's Maggie. I would use Margaret or Margarita as a full name though.

OhTheRoses · 16/06/2017 07:23

I'm not sure of Mikes point but on a tangent. Marguerite's diminutive can be Daisy. Any help?

ScarletSienna · 16/06/2017 07:35

Alice is really nice. Maggie is (imo) really not and doesn't go as well with your other DC names.

Reasons I don't like Maggie:
-Thatcher
-It is a diminutive (but I wouldn't even use Margaret)
-It is harsh sounding
-I would really hate to be called it myself

Hersetta427 · 16/06/2017 15:03

I like them all except Leni (which I hate).

Maggie is lovely - you should use it if you both love it- there is nothing for people to turn there nose up about it.

OwlsinTowls · 16/06/2017 15:22

I think Emmy works best with sisters Lucy and Katy.

squoosh · 16/06/2017 15:27

Maggie is my favourite. It's definitely a name in its own right.

Leni is my second favourite.

ShmooBooMoo · 16/06/2017 15:31

Alice. Can't think of Maggie without thinking of Thatcher.
