What do you think of Sunny as a boy's name? I love it and we're thinking of using it, but not sure whether to spell it "Sunny" or "Sonny", I like it with a 'U' but hubby thinks it's too feminine and should be spelt with a 'O'; opinions please??? :D

It is getting more and more popular, sorry to say, ElBombero (many congratulations on your baby and well done for being together enough to get online so soon).

I agree the GFIL name was most likely a nn. Even the boxer Sonny Liston was originally named Charles.

And 'Sonny' Liston was the youngest of 29 children so if they were running out of names his parents could have used Sonny as a real name. It wouldn't have mattered as apparently his birth wasn't registered properly. But they still went with Charles.

I think it's lovely as a boys name and spelt Sunny.

Awful awful awful. Give your child a name rather than a nickname. You are naming a person not a dolly.

I think Sonny is a lovely name, although wouldn't use it myself as one of my four sons is Buddy so think they may be a little twee together, but it is nice, and I'm glad you went with 'o'.

I know a girl called Sonny. It screwed with my boy-girl-boy-girl seating plan (teacher).
