Does anyone own an overlocker/coverstitch machine?

Please help before I lose it completely and pitch the bastarding thing out of the sodding window.

It's fine in coverstitch mode.

In overlocker mode, it either:
Won't chain
Will chain beautifully for about 30cm till the left hand needle thread breaks
Or the right needle thread.
Sometimes threading just the needles again will be ok
More often the fecker won't catch and I realise the lower looper has come unthreaded.

I've just spent A FUCKING HOUR repeatedly rethreading.

It was an expensive present, it's too late to send it back and I HATE IT I HATE IT I HATE IT AAAARRRRGGGHH

Look for a you tube video on threading your machine & model, chances are it's the order in which it is thread if not look at tensions

I would recommend rethreading the whole thing. Take them all out and start from scratch, from number one first. Check your tensions are what they are supposed to be, and use dental tape (tape not floss) to clean between the tension rods. Change your needles to fresh ones (an even slightly bent needle could be causing problems).
If ever you need to rethread one of the needles or loopers, always remove all threads from the final part of threading and redo each one in order to ensure they are looping correctly.

I am definitely feeling your pain on that one. I borrowed my MIL's horror a few years back. I was fine till I had to retread one of the cottons... to be fair she did warn me.
Amusingly enough when we were clearing her house out my SIL handed the thing to me and said I'm sure you'll be the only one who can make use of this... Grin
