It makes my blood boil! They drive their big childcrushers whilst on the phone, they tailgate other smaller cars, they use enormous amounts of petrol, they block up roads, they look threatening...how can people choose to drive something like that? Do they have ha a selfish gene, do they think they are just better than other people so rules don't apply to them, or are they just thick?

(NOTE this is only about town drivers, i appreciate that they are useful in the countryside).

Sometimes, I think Jeremy Clarkson is winning.

Anyway, to be fair to the Princess... at least the worst she did was throw her arms up in the way.... She could have rolled over you in her mah-hoo-sive 4x4 and squashed you into oblivion!!

Off subject but does it annoy anyone else when your doing the speed limit and Taxi drivers who i know are allowed to be there, but undertake you in the bus lane? I get that alot and it really me!

BMW drivers are the ones i do not like!

Youcannotbeserious · 06/03/2008 20:43

Surely undertaking IS allowed in bus lanes, as normal lane switching doesn't occur?

Not sure about that, but either way, it doesn't annoy me........

Only thing that really annoys me are drivers who sit in the outside lane of motorways doing 75mph and don't feel they should move over 'because they are doing the speed limit'....

Oh sh*t, MsSparkle. I've got 2 BMWs and a Porsche.... You really wouldn't like me (not that you would like me anyway!! )

Bus lanes are designed so that in heavy traffic, buses and taxis aren't put behind schedule by being in a traffic jam. If the traffic is stationary or slow moving then YES the bus/taxi can undertake.

If on the other hand there is no heavy traffic or traffic jam and the traffic is flowing normal and everyone is doing 30mph then the taxi doesn't even to be in the bus lane, let alone use it to do 40mph to undertake everyone. The speed limit still applys to bus lanes too.

I didn't know that!

Aren't there usually cameras in bus lanes though, to stop 'other' cars using them?

Wouldn't they pick up the speed too?

I just hate drivers! Except for me who is perfect of course!

Surely bus lanes exist to allow buses and taxis to undertake?

Were you one of the ones who claimed to be a good driver? I bet cyclists passing you make you really angry.

There are cameras yes but not everywhere. Where i live there are no cameras but then i don't live in the city, just a small town by the sea so that's probably why.

Upwind i just explained about bus lanes and undertaking.

Not for long, RedRobin...

We had an X5 and a mini, then DH changed jobs and got a new company car (porsche), plus the option to keep his old one (BMW)

So, I'm now using the BMW - it's an Estate and a really good workhorse (it's the one I like to use to ferry the dog around in ) and DH uses the Porsche when he's in the UK (which isn't all that much!!)

The mini has been sold and the X5 is going when we find someone to buy it - not sure I'll find any takers on this particular thread!!!

So, that's why...

Ooh I don't know.

I'm on the looky for an x5 or a xc90, we need 6 seats. Are you selling?

You certainly did read it wrong MsSparkle. But then that just about sums up how you non 4x4 drivers think - ignorantly and with the mentality of a 4 year old. And yes that is nice cup of wine as I prefer that to tea. Please read the text correctly and don't get on your high horse by misreading or misunderstanding. Typical.

And if you respond to this MsSparkle I will not be around to defend my wanky 4x4 driving image because I'm too busy having a glass of wine.

Trying to justify driving a selfish vehicle by trying to insult people who drive less selfish vehicals is very, well, 4 year old like.

Your not coming to my party by the way. Na Na Na Na Na.
