It makes my blood boil! They drive their big childcrushers whilst on the phone, they tailgate other smaller cars, they use enormous amounts of petrol, they block up roads, they look threatening...how can people choose to drive something like that? Do they have ha a selfish gene, do they think they are just better than other people so rules don't apply to them, or are they just thick?

(NOTE this is only about town drivers, i appreciate that they are useful in the countryside).

Sometimes, I think Jeremy Clarkson is winning.

LOL Aitch. As a drove my "4x4" today I too was laughing, and if anyone has driven a toyota rav4 you'll know why! And I did also smile to myslef as I watched a woman in a mahooosive black range rover tried to reverse out of the way of a line of traffic.

"I just hate drivers! Except for me who is perfect of course! "

Sheesh - nutter!

actually, i retract that. i only don't have a problem with teecee's diddy car. the rest of you are going to hell in a handbasket.

Oh I didn't realise people had issues with only the BIG 4x4s. If RAV4s are excluded from all this 4x4 hatred, then maybe my little 4x4 (freelander) is too!

kid you not, by the way, me and dd nearly got run over by some big fuck-off 4x4 pulling a U-ey outside my house today and then as we walked to nursery i observed some big Suzuki thing zoom right through a flashing amber light while there were still people on the crossing. the driver had to pull into the cycle lane and part way onto the pavement to do it, right enough, because the other traffic on the road had stopped.

i thought of this thread and pmsl.

and thommy, no offence but a toyota rav thingie is a diddy 4x4 and not really the source of the complaints on here. although i'm sure your dh is a magnificent caring brute nevertheless.

And here was me thinking that the stereotype that most 4x4 drivers were bored housewives with nothing else to do but brag about how much their DH earnt/colour of their credit card/how much their home improvements cost was totally wrong.

Silly me.

And now, the congested roads of the UK, anyone???

In fact women who drive 4x4s around the town are now going to be called 'little princesses'

I'm having a party all by myself here thanks very much and you certainly are not invited

Report
MsSparkle · 06/03/2008 21:11

Trying to justify driving a selfish vehicle by trying to insult people who drive less selfish vehicals is very, well, 4 year old like.

Your not coming to my party by the way. Na Na Na Na Na.

And if you respond to this MsSparkle I will not be around to defend my wanky 4x4 driving image because I'm too busy having a glass of wine.

Nicecupofwine · 06/03/2008 21:06

You certainly did read it wrong MsSparkle. But then that just about sums up how you non 4x4 drivers think - ignorantly and with the mentality of a 4 year old. And yes that is nice cup of wine as I prefer that to tea. Please read the text correctly and don't get on your high horse by misreading or misunderstanding. Typical.

Ooh I don't know.

I'm on the looky for an x5 or a xc90, we need 6 seats. Are you selling?

Report
Youcannotbeserious · 06/03/2008 21:03

Not for long, RedRobin...

We had an X5 and a mini, then DH changed jobs and got a new company car (porsche), plus the option to keep his old one (BMW)

So, I'm now using the BMW - it's an Estate and a really good workhorse (it's the one I like to use to ferry the dog around in ) and DH uses the Porsche when he's in the UK (which isn't all that much!!)

The mini has been sold and the X5 is going when we find someone to buy it - not sure I'll find any takers on this particular thread!!!

So, that's why...

We have 3 cars too although one is a work van.
