AIBU?

AIBU to leave my cat outside with a sign around his neck saying ‘free to a good home’?

I am having a truly shit week - two close family members going through really awful experiences, some bad news for me personally, and my mum being hugely supportive but clearly struggling with being there for everyone.

So my cat, of course, decides that 10pm tonight is the perfect time to learn how to open the cupboard where we keep the glasses, climb inside, and send literally every single item of glass inside crashing to the ground, where they make a sound which would wake the hounds of hell and smash extravagantly on the floor. This sends my other (highly nervous) cat into a paroxysm of terror, as a result of which she uses my face and incredibly sore pregnancy boobs as a springboard to launch herself upstairs.

I’m now beadily eyeing the homewares vandal as he cleans his whiskers on the mantelpiece looking like he’s never done a thing wrong in his life, and wondering if he wouldn’t make quite a nice pair of slippers...?

Aw that is one cheeky cat! What a funny photo!
My cat has been my best mate during lockdown and I've taken inspiration from her laidback attitude to life so I would say let your feline off this time 😂

What if an interested party asks for a character reference? You won't be able to lie, and do you have a returns policy?😻

Here's to better times ahead of you Flowers

My cat keeps

Meowing to be let out
Meowing at me once the door is open because it’s raining and she DOESN’T LIKE SKYWATER!
Tentatively stepping outside and getting rained on then running inside to hide in the cupboard
Meowing at me for shutting the door because she wanted to go outside (sorry I thought you were hiding in the cupboard!)
Meowing at me because I’ve changed her water and it’s too clean (dead flies taste good apparently)

This is pretty much on repeat today. My cat does NOT. LIKE. SKYWATER.

I think it’s because it has an absence of dead flies

Just remember, cats are never concerned with human problems - only their own!

He's probably planning to leave you outside with a sign saying free to any home who will take it if he's anything like my Dcat.

I hope your week improves soon OP.

Oh, I had a very similar gorgeous furry git years ago. I once walked into the kitchen to find him weeing on the top of the kitchen cabinets and looking extremely pleased with himself.

Sod then started squeaking for me to help him down. Of course I did. Little bastards.

My cat became a stroppy asshole when I was pregnant. Hated the competition! Thankfully he quit hunting and bringing me maimed birds for a while Envy

I like the sound of him. He sounds spirited although annoying. I had my cat put to sleep today as he was ill but not old. I’ll have your cat no matter how busy he may be

I'm sorry pinkstripey. I had my much loved boy PTS 13 weeks ago today, and it still hurts.

My cat is a wee twat too, and far more high maintenance than our dog. How can that be?!
Thing is though, he is THE most handsome animal, and he gets by on this Grin
Hope you're ok ThanksCakeBrew

Sorry for your losses thegcat and holly. Flowers

Our newer addition who was all timid and quiet a few weeks ago when he moved in has now settled in and spends a lot of time trying to open bins and conspiring with his sister to steal our food. Made a tuna sandwich the other day I was lucky to escape with my life. Obviously my own fault for thinking it was my tuna and not theirs.
