Ds (2yrs) fell and bit his lip this morning, it's still open and bleeding a bit now.

Anyway, we've just been out and while I was old man bent down into ds' buggy and touched his cut in order to inspect it I think. His hands were filthy, and I'm absolutely livid, mainly because I'm scared ds will have caught something from this man as his dirty hand directly touched ds' cut.

I'm now having images of bugs and germs entering ds bloodstream now and am nearly beside myself.

Please tell me I have nothing to worry about and that IABU?

What a silly man

Don't worry, I'm sure he will be fine.

I would be just the same though!!

PanicPants · 31/08/2007 14:03

Thank you every one, you've made me feel a bit calmer now!

Oh no! I'd be really upset too. HIV can't live on dirty hands though (or clean ones for that matter), so you don't have to worry on that account. Only if the man bled profusely into DS's cut (and even then it would be very unlikely).

Your ds will be fine.

Teach him to roar at old men who poke him in his buggy.

Wakeuppeople · 31/08/2007 13:54

You should be fine.....silly old man though!

PanicPants · 31/08/2007 13:52

I know! Why do people think they can poke at children they don't know!

I've even looked up what could be transmitted through open cuts, including HIV. I've got to stop this, and try not to worry.

Give it a clean and try not to worry. To be honest the bugs that live naturally in his mouth are liekly to be more of a problem but saliva is marvellous stuff and usually stops an infection developing...

Cross at the stupid dirty man for poking your ds's cut though!!!

MamaG · 31/08/2007 13:44

Don't worry PP I'm sure he'll be fine.

I'm of the "a bit o' muck never hurt anybody" breed

OrmIrian · 31/08/2007 13:35

Give it a wash and don't worry

cornsilk · 31/08/2007 13:33

Not unreasonable - but probably nothing to worry about. I would worry too.

JeremyVile · 31/08/2007 13:33

Just give it a clean!
