To feel shame (looked up, tongue mid-lick..
Shriekingbanshee · 28/10/2018 16:17
...to see opposite neighbour looking out her kitchen window at me, licking plates before loading dishwasher)
I am not sure whether to be horrified at being caught out red-handed as it were, mid-lick, cleaning my dish before loading it in d'washer or just, oh well, I love my food and none will go to waste whilst I'm around.
Its gross though isn't it...oh... am swinging here...I just can't get enough of the taste and I need to portion control, so don't want to leave anything!
SoyDora · 28/10/2018 16:18
Yeah it’s gross!
Aprilislonggone · 28/10/2018 16:19
Op are you a Spaniel? If not yabu to lick dishes.
kaytee87 · 28/10/2018 16:20
That's pretty vile tbh
Bobbybear10 · 28/10/2018 16:20
Are your licking all of the old plates or just yours after a meal?
If it’s just yours then that’s less gross but if it’s all the old plates then you need help!
Bluntness100 · 28/10/2018 16:20
Yeah, that's not good. Is it just your plate you lick or everyone else's?
I'll be honest, it's quite an odd thing to do.
Km06 · 28/10/2018 16:20
Its gross but we all got our thing and it could be worse
gamerchick · 28/10/2018 16:21
You kick all the plates or just yours?
Either way it's rank < not envy.
chemenger · 28/10/2018 16:21
Why on earth would you do that? If I saw it I would thing you were very peculiar indeed. It would not occur to me to lick a plate.
Tattandthis · 28/10/2018 16:22
This really made me laugh.
How long was the plate left? Was it your plate? What was the meal?
So many questions.
steff13 · 28/10/2018 16:22
Oh, that's so much worse than I thought it was going to be when I clicked the thread. 🤢🤢🤢🤢 I'm struggling between wanting more information, and thinking I couldn't stomach it.
DiaryStrife · 28/10/2018 16:22
Sorry but that is grim
UpstartCrow · 28/10/2018 16:23
pmsl. This is why people have nets
PositivelyPERF · 28/10/2018 16:23
Please tell me she stood watching you as you licked your fourth plate. I’ve visions of a food hamper from a mystery well wisher, being left on your doorstep. 🤣
HemanOrSheRa · 28/10/2018 16:23
Oh. Pffft. My Mum used to lick her plate after a particularly good Sunday lunch . She used to encourage me to do the same. Although, a nice slice of white bread smushed round in the gravy is excellent too .
Florries · 28/10/2018 16:24
I made the most beautiful gravy known to man once and accidentally spilt some on my kitchen side. Over my dead body was the juice of the gods going to go to waste. So, I whipped out a straw and enjoyed every slurp.
Gross? Definitely. Do I care? Not one bit.
ElizabethMainwaring · 28/10/2018 16:25
Oh, it's not that bad! Really!
Thatstheendofmytether · 28/10/2018 16:25
No no no, all I can think of is you liking cold gravy or cold bean sauce of the dirty dishes OP, it's giving me the boak 🤢
steff13 · 28/10/2018 16:26
Oh. Pffft. My Mum used to lick her plate after a particularly good Sunday lunch.
That's not really the same thing, though, licking your own plate immediately after dinner.
Bluntness100 · 28/10/2018 16:26
I think the fact you say you were licking plates, plural, would indicate you lick more than yours.
I mean this gently but do you have issues with food and control?
Wauden · 28/10/2018 16:29
Oops, best to just smile and wave at the neighbour
HemanOrSheRa · 28/10/2018 16:31
Well I wasn't going to share this steff13 but my mum used to lick my Dad's and sister's plate too . In fact my lovely Dad would make sure there was some delicious gravy left on his plate .

AllTakenSoRubbishUsername · 28/10/2018 16:31
Yuck! Get some blinds!
Whereismumhiding2 · 28/10/2018 16:32
This made my day!! Lol!! Erm, yes, that is a rather unusual pre dishwasher approach you have ...and eeek, all seen by neighbour!!
But really... it's genius! I moan at my DC to rinse plates off before loading in dishwasher, I might suggest they lick them!!
Racecardriver · 28/10/2018 16:32
That’s hilarious. I don’t find it gross but just v odd.
