According to a fucking hilarious Mumsnet cliche-meme on the FB feed.

FFS this is appalling. Why are Mumsnet of all places perpetuating the myth that girls can’t do maths.

I know plenty will say “lighten up, it’s harmless fun” but it’s not. It’s continual nonsense-shite that pervades and influences girls and their views that maths is a boys’ subject.

Maths is for everyone.

Shame on you MN.

DD is less good at maths (the joke is dancers can only count in base 8 - which she doesn't really get)

But that's because she inherited her dad's (poor maths and fab dance) brain not my (great maths poor dance) brain....

Apparently so donquixotedelamancha. It has been a very long, tiring day and I didn't see some small writing on a picture on MN. So I must be reprimanded obviously. Wink

That's fucking shit. I'm the one who helps my kids with their maths homework. Oldest is doing A-level so not easy stuff either.

I hate how it's socially acceptable to be crap at maths in a way that's totally unacceptable to be crap at literacy. AngryAngryAngry

I have 1 DD doing a maths degree and 1 DD doing an engineering degree! They are both far better at maths than their father.

For what it’s worth Sparkling I also didn’t see the tiny font at the top either nor do I think your being a martyr, some of us can appreciate a lighthearted comment without getting arsy about it

To you maybe, but not to me.

Have you possibly not read the bit at the top where it literally says "Go and ask your father"?

Hedgehog it's the advert we are cross with, not Sparkling.

I didn't even know there was a video. Grin I don't have FB, it's probably for the best.

@JenMumsnet great that it's been deleted, not so great that someone "up there" thinks that kind of stuff is acceptable, and even worse post it on "behalf" of Mumsnet.

Oh blimey; I'm not good at emotions, I should have put a fucking smiley, or grin, or wink, or put in my last post.

Jesus - I was just pointing out to Sparkling that she hadn't been "reprimanded" which seemed slightly OTT.

Smile Grin Wink
