AIBU?

To accept it? Or do I ask for an awkward refund?

A lady I went to school with is a highly recommended beautician. I had my nails done with her before and loved them so I thought I would try these HD brows. I have naturally quite thick eyebrows and normally love them when I get back from a wax, but today I am a tad upset (I appreciate it is ridiculous to be upset about something as trivial as eyebrows).

When I got a look at them, they looked fine. There was a little too much make up on them for my personal taste but I thought I'd just remove it at home to tone it down. Removed all the brow make up and I have a bald patch! Like a slit in one eyebrow that looks like it has been shaved in like young lads do. I'm gutted. She obviously saw it and covered it with the make up. The brows were pricey, do I ask for a refund? Which will be horrendously awkward as I know her, or just suck it up and not go there again?

Yes to the 24hrs for the lashes.

Bollocks about it for the HD brows.

And tbh she's still fobbing you off? I pay £28 for HD brows, a 'shape' costs about £7!

I'd reply saying,

Thanks for getting back to me, really appreciate it. I understand mistakes happen. But I'd much rather just have my money back than a shape in the future. I can send u my bank acc details if that's the easiest way to do it?

She sounds really unprofessional. Was it expensive, OP?

Ask for a good quality eyebrow pencil in the meantime???

I have gaps in my eyebrows.
I mainly use maybelline brow satin pencil with the powder sponge tip, and really bad days add benefit gimmebrow.
It has little fibres in.

I use wonderbrow as it has fibres in and lasts for two or three days. It is not cheap but really works.

I would go in without make up and point (in room full of clients). Or if you're passive aggressive, post it on FB and tag her with an "whoops"

Ask her if she does micro blading to fill in the gap. If not I would say, not to worry. (Breezily) I'll get a quote to sort out the gap and let you know how much it is.

She has offered you another treatment so I think I would let this go now, but her excuse for leaving the tint to develop or whatever is bollox, she has already wiped it off before you left the salon.

To be fair, apart from the bald patch your eyebrow shape is nice and lashes lovely, fill it in and you will be georgeous!

Go back definitely. It doesn't look right at all ! You don't have to be rude just leave the make up off and say look I'm not one for complaining but part of my eyebrow is missing what can you do to help me rectify it as I'm not quite comfortable going around like this. Should be no problem.

I think 'No thank you, I'd rather have a refund' is a fine response.

TBH it was me, I'd rip her so many new arseholes, she'd be shitting like through a shower.
But then I have been growing them back for the past 2 years and any mistake would set me back to the beginning.

I'm filling mine in with some cheap eyebrow cream colour and some brown eyeshadow on top. And using very thin brushes. It's a PITA, but result is awesome.

Ask for a refund.

Def refund, regardless of how well.you know her or how much you like her, she provided a service you paid for which wasn't up to standard.

OP as you were happy with the lashes, why don't you push for another session of those instead.

"Ah thanks for understanding, my brows are important to me so I'm a bit anguished! To be honest I'm going to leave my brows alone for the foreseeable to let them regrow. No need for a re-shape, but another session of the LVL would be fab - would that be ok?"

Say:
I would rather a refund please.

See what she says

That is a dreadful response from her. Does she have a buisness Facebook page? I would post the photo of your eye on there and ask what she is going to do about it. She has behaved incredibly unprofessionally and in not acknowledging her mistake has not shown herself in a good light at all. I wouldn't worry about awkwardness, she has indicated she isn't bothered about you, so I wouldn't be too bothered about her either.

I would chase up for a refund , wouldn't really want a free treatment in the future.

I recently bought a boots sleek eyebrow kit and I love it and would thoroughly recommended it to fill in until it grows back, was only £8.50 which was quite cheap in comparison to some of the other brands.

OP, stop being such a wuss!!! There is nothing wrong with asking for a refund. She has made a mistake and it's fair that you are refunded.

I'd go with KangaMum's reply.

It's polite and friendly.

If you let it go then I bet it will really annoy you every time you look in the mirror. If you think you have been fairly compensated then it won't bother you half as much.

Kangamum reply was good. She'd struggle to say no to that.

Eyebrows are tricky things and I certainly wouldn't trust someone with my eyebrows again who has messed them up before, I don't blame you for being upset.

She's talking bollocks. That is a serious fuck up (in eyebrows!)
Do you want to go back for lashes? I personally would say that you are upset. She didn't tell you to leave the makeup on (nonsense) & it's not going to regrow the hair. I would say you're actually a bit embarrassed & upset & would prefer a refund for your brows as you aren't going to need a shape anytime soon.

With HD brows it's not a usual tint, and you do leave it on for longer (24 hours is usual) as it does tint the skin - it's about creating the perfect eyebrow shape, even if your hair doesn't quite match - so taking hair away AND adding some in.

BUT - there should still be hair in the middle of your eyebrow, thats really poor. And I accept that people make mistakes - but they should bloody well tell you! I can't see how she couldn't have noticed.

Personally I would go back and ask for the tint to be reapplied so that you would get longer time with it hidden, as well as a refund.

OP,
You have to go back, otherwise it will just play on your mind and in the end you'll regret not going back.
She knows she has made a mistake that's why she filled it in with pencil.
She's a idiot OP and very unprofessional and the worst part is she's treating you like your the idiot.
Do not let her get away with this.
She has to put it right and give you a full refund, she is in business and believe me she knows this already .
