Have a bad back or aching muscles?

Sod buying an expensive massager.

A child's toy car (the metal hot wheels type) is a perfect tool.

Discovered it today and my God does it feel nice

Re the massage, put the tennis ball, or a lacrosse ball which is better, in a long sock and hold it behind you while standing against a wall. Jiggle about until you find the sore spots and massage away!

Those tumble drier balls with the spikes are great for massaging.

Bit tmi but coat hangers make pretty good back scratchers. Especially the ones with the raised rubber bits on them.

Persuading the toddler to play cars on Mummy's back is also gooooooooood.
My dc also fight over who gets to brush my hair as well. As long as they dont pull it its actually quite relaxing.

Epsom salts if anyone is interested in where I get mine from. I dont work for these people by the way!

I knew the texting swiping thing - only because I saw my 12 year old doing I and asked how he was doing that! Smile
I do it all the time automatically now.

The envelope fold on the shoulders is so you can pull it down over their shoulders - so no poo needs to go over their head!

Epsom salts = magnesium sulphate. If you suffer chronically with aches and don't have time to soak in a bath or have a massage, try taking magnesium supplements. Sometimes these aches and pains are down to a magnesium deficiency.

My tips: If you don't use tampons and find using pads overnight messy with leaks, try taking several sheets of toilet paper, fold them and sort of wodge them between your labia. Make sure the loo roll touches your pad at some point. The loo roll soaks up the blood and stops it running past the pad, then, as it fills and touches the pad, conducts it onto the pad. It also works with tampons if you have heavy periods and leaking.

If you suffer a lot with thrush that tends to arrive during/after periods, your tampons may be the causing you to dry up, upsetting the fauna and flora. Smear some KY on the tampon before insertion on your lighter days to prevent any dryness. You'll have to experiment to find how much to use that works for you, but if you previously found tampons difficult or scratchy to remove, this will help.

Roll your back around on a tennis ball (or 2 tennis balls taped together). Ouchy but good!

Ah. I see several people got there before me. That'll teach me to RTFT.

Loving these bad back DIY remedies, so asking for suggestions! I have developed a really painful arm - Googled it and I think it might be tennis elbow (how ridiculous, I wouldn't know one end of a tennis racquet from the other!). Any suggestions please MNers?

It's called myofascial release. Some people use foam rollers, but the tennis / lacrosse ball is a better method.
This book tells you how to do it properly and I'd recommend buying the balls to go with it:

It's amazing. No more expensive sports massages or osteopath appointments.

Take a tennis ball and roll the arches of your feet over it, pressing in a little. You can all lean against a wall with the ball between you and the wall, in the sore spots, and roll against the wall like a happy dog.

you can use 2 tennis balls to do your back too - lie on them and then move up and down

Partners got a bad back will suggest that later though I know im going to get the look of what the hell! lol

giantpurplepeopleeater - Didnt work with my samsung either, I think what others said have to turn it on.

I went to settings>Language and Input > Looking for header Keyboard and input methods under there should be >Samsung keyboard> then scroll down to find Keyboard Swipe > Will auto be on None change it to Continuous input .

Mine does automatic spaces to each time I make a word but I took it off as I automatically do a space on auto pilot so every word had two spaces between them. That's under the same section if you want to change anything like that.

When arriving at a destination before you turn your engine and Sat nav off key in your next destination and get it to route your journey, then its there waiting when you restart your car.

Really helpful when parking underground etc.

This book is my go to book for aches and pains as it covers different parts of the body in detail and tells you which areas to target, more than paid for itself.

Similarly ... periods that hurt/short cycle ... a multivitamin with all the B vitamins, vitamin D and iodine can work well - not always a 'woman' one. Iodine is often deficient but is needed in such small amounts that you should only take it on-its-own if advised by an endocrine specialist or similar, however the amounts in multivitamins such as sanatogen can work wonders.

Also - grit in your eye you can't see/feel? Put clean olive oil on your (clean finger) and use it to drip the tiniest bit into your eye. Blink a bit and keep it shut for a minute or two - the grit will float, with the oil, to the inner corner of the eye. Wet clean cloth/tissue, wipe it off.

No scary picking or gross pulling at your eyelid!
