I can't see the bra. Blush

It did take me a while too. Grin

But it's definitely shocking and not obvious.

Oh, tell me, don't tease!

That's a great low maintenance garden for a student let but not much soul for a home owner/occupier

I love that estate agent site. I'm crying of laughter at the dog one
Rex knew this time they weren’t bluffing. Last night’s barkathon had been the final straw.

Second photo, on the floor, black, between the bed and the desk. (there could be others)

Notice that it has 3 bedrooms and only 2 were photographed! While there are 3 photos of the same garden.

Possible reasons:
there was someone still sleeping there
there were dirty pants on the floor
the door was locked
...

Took me ages to find the bra. I wouldn't have found it without really trying

The garden is pretty bleak but with a lot of effort it could be gorgeous.

I dont think the bra is the biggest problem with that room tbh. The whole lot is a dump!

OnlyLovers · 10/06/2015 12:20

Oh yes Grin! God, it's so large and stretched out I barely recognise it as a bra.

These sort of threads are vile. For all you know the tenants had no notice of the pics being taken. They're probably mortified. But as long as you can have a laugh at their expense who cares?

That would be a breach of their contract wouldn't it?

The owner has to give prior knowledge before entering the premises.

I think there's one hanging off the door handle too, a white one?

I'm pretty sure that bra must have been somewhere under all that mess!Shock

Aermingers · 10/06/2015 12:26

Yes, because all landlords behave ethically right? Hmm

Aermingers picture aware or not, they're living like sluts. They should be bloody embarrassed. How can anyone live like that??

My reaction is more about what a pretty crap house costs in Oxford, Aer. You can get something lovely for that, in this part of the world.
This is a student HMO in the centre of Durham. It's not a cheap area to buy. It's pristine in comparison, including the state of the decor.

Wouldn't surprise me if the tenants hadn't given permission before the agent went in and took the pictures. Foxtons did that to me when I was a tenant and I was mortified. Of course I'd have cleared up if I'd have known in advance but I was out at work (doing 15 hour days at the time) and when I didn't answer my phone (in a meeting) they went in anyway - same day - and took loads of photos with my personal effects strewn around the place.

They're living like students. Who gives a shit? If none of you can get your kicks from anything more titillating than tutting about the state of a students bedroom and giggling that you've seen an actual bra, two bras! Tee hee then I feel sorry for you.

Lweji · 10/06/2015 12:30

My point was that they could report the owner or take him/her to court if that was the case.

We don't know if the pictures were taken without permission, so I'd assume they were.

It's Marston, which is a pretty nice area and it's reasonably near Summertown which is extortionate. It's also very easy to get to the John Radcliffe and Brookes campus from there.

I think the only possible person who got any titillation was the OP.

Report the owner to who exactly? If you had a landlord who had your deposit what exactly would 'reporting' him do other than make it even more likely he'd withold your deposit?

Report
Momagain1 · 10/06/2015 12:36

The owner might have cared to see that the tenants did tidy up enough to improve his chances of a sale, except it sounds like it is in an area where he will get a close enough offer, or better, regardless of the state of it.
