I'm not feeling the aging windswept hippy look any more. I'm 40 and haven't had it cut for about 3 years.

It is currently below waist, thick and straight as a yard of pump water. I think I'm going a bit bald at the front. Would that be from pulling it into a bun/plait all the time? It's thin and fuzzy there.

Appointment is at 2pm.

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!

Hooking that looks fantastic! It does indeed look bouncy and swishy, am well jel! Good on you for donating the ponytail too. Must be a huge change for you, hope you're happy with it? Grin

Love it! It looks really swishy, if I were you I'd have a headache from swooshing it around Grin

Feeling inspired to go and get a haircut now, thanks ladies!

What a lovely thread. OP your haircut is fabuloso. Great to see pics of posters although it's a bit of a shock (in a good way). Going to the hairdresser is one of the highlights of my life. It's like a theatrical performance. Even the ceiling is dramatic- a modern art mural of naked bodies.

Shock Seeing the mnetters faces behind the mnetters names is like when you see teachers outside of school! It's so strange Grin

And you all look flippin' fab.

I'd had waist length hair for 40 years, but the grey was starting to show, so I had it cut quite short a few years ago, and never regretted it. I am, however, astonished at how often I need to have it cut!

That's lovely, op!
I went from below waist blonde to short bob dark brown for the third time in my life a year or so ago. And then last month it was annoying me so I now have a pixie crop. I am just turned forty and it really suits me; tried it in my twenties and it looked rubbish.
Poor DH is still very slightly coming to terms with the changes!

It looks lovely with the layers. How much lighter does it feel OP?

I'm determined to grow mine further. I am red haired and curly. I look like Merida from Brave if I don't straighten (which I do far less than I used to every day )

xx

Wow, it looks amazing, well done!
Did the hairdresser say the weight of it may be what's caused the top thinning?

Love it OP! Have just had mine cut today too - I had butterflies as I'd not been to this hairdresser before. Have a fringe now, and it's just above shoulderlength (was about 1-2 inches below shoulders this morning!) She cut it beautifully - they always take too much "weight" out of the back, even though I've got fine hair, but have lots of it. She didn't do that. Fingers crossed it will look as good when I have to dry it! Yours looks lovely OP x

That looks great OP. It will be so much easier to manage - and keep in a style.

Oh nice one! Like you, I was scared about going too short. My hair was about as long as yours but TLPT at the time were asking for 'minimum 8 inches' so I donated 16 inches and had to go up to the nape of my neck. I loved my new bob.

However, I have nearly got another 8 inches that I have grown to donate and it won't be scary going short at the end of this year..

Your new style looks lovely Hooked! So hope I get as good a cut when I donate mine soon. You should be very proud you have also helped a little one who has lost their own hair. Great result all round!

I wasn't bold enough to go proper short. Next time maybe.
