Way back at the start of this thread someone mentioned the Grand Central Hotel in Glasgow. I stayed there about twelve years ago and have never gone anywhere near it since. An ex boyfriend and I were at a gig and decided to make a night of it and stay over somewhere despite only living 10 miles away.
We went back to our room and it was huge, 2 double beds and a massive bathroom if I remember correctly. what freaked me out was the bathroom, I couldn't bring myself to go in there alone even for a pee, I was literally terrified. I couldn't sleep, and dozed off every half hour until I jerked awake, always fixated on the door to the bathroom. I didn't have a shower until I got home, despite being all sweaty from the gig the night before. Now its all been done up, but I can't bring myself even to try out the champagne bar because the entire place terrifies me. If I were to describe the bathroom it reminded me of the one from the shining, where the bath is longways across the wall at the back of the room.

This might freak you out....when I was a toddler I fell and hurt my face quite badly and was left with a scar. One day about 4 yrs later, a girl turned up and said she used to live in our house and could she look around? Turns out we had a scar in the same place, bymfalling in the same place (no real obvious hazards) at the same age . Lots of people heard / saw weird things in that house and for some weird reason, I was just so relieved when my folks sold it before my little one got to 3.

Sorry to revive a zombie thread, but I read a story on the Fortean Times board and thought of the poster who regularly experiences drips of water. It's the one on this page by 'Escargot' posted on October 26, 2009:

Sorry to join in resurrecting the zombie, but I've just had a very strange experience.

It's a running joke in our house that I can never find any pair of shoes. Even if I've taken them off in one place the night before. One will always be there, but not the other, despite searching. They might turn up next day, or next month, or months later. Or in some cases I'm still waiting.

Today, I went to put some clothes to dry in the spare bedroom. It's a mess, as I'm trying to declutter the house.

On a clear space on the floor were my jodphur boots. Together. I've not seen either of them while decluttering, In fact I've not seen either of them for so long that I thought I must have thrown them out.

I've had some odd things happen before, but this is the most blatant for a long while.

Any ideas? I've lost touch with certain people connected with the boots, but just texted or emailed anyone I can still get in touch with.

Previous incidents have involved random objects, nothing so specific.

My DH has had an experience. About 10 years ago whilst he was still living with parents in a newly built house on older land. Came home from work down hall and popped into his bedroom to drop his things on the chest of draws. When to walk out of the room and saw an apparition of a young girl walking toward him he says he involuntarily froze on the spot and she walked straight through him. He stood frozen for a couple of minutes before continuing to walk down the hall... his mum says he was as white as a sheet. He has always told the story the exact same way and in detail so its really hard to ever doubt that it happened (the he imagined it or so forth). Im skeptical about whether I believe or not, partly for the fact I have many passed relatives and have not experienced a single sign from anyone...!

@Iseverynametaken to be honest, I've never knowingly heard from any direct relation, despite hoping to hear from my mum. I did know when she finally passed, we'd been back and forth to her bedside for weeks. Always the nurses thought it was the end, but she hung on. God knows how.

After weeks and months of false alarms, I'd gone home and was in the bath. At around 8.30pm I started crying. My dad knocked on my door about 9.30 and told me she'd finally let go. I told him I knew. It was at the time I'd started crying.

But... I'd love a sign, and think Mum would try. Wish we'd discussed it more.

Regarding the boots... DH has no idea, and on questioning has not even been in the room during the relevant period of time.

I've contacted the major party connected with the boots, and all seems OK. Really hoping it was just a kick to keep in touch.

Totally agree with wish we had dicussed it more. I did however see a Medium quite a few years after their passing and it was quite incredible how much she knew. To make the booking I only gave my first name no other details. It was about an hours drive from my house and I had never met her so cant plausibly think of how she knew the info. Down to the fact my brother and I look very different (she picked he is tan/dark hair where I am opposite) knew exactly who of my fam members had passed, that my Dad says my dog is very pretty for a boy and that he sees him at my house (he is often mistaken for a female dog and also starts wagging his tail in door ways when no one there.. i put that down to hearing something!) and that I had recently bought a new car (she says Dad said it was a waste of money nothing wrong with my old car) and also said my Dad to tell mum (by her name!!!) that he was at peace and all was well. It was really quite amazing..
