1st of October, but to be fair everyday is Halloween in my house 🎃

Just that week. Or whenever mould starts appearing from the pumpkins mouth. Mould on the pumpkin is a good barometer for Halloween being over in this house!

@unicornpower Thank you, no I don't mind fake ones. I like stuff that can be reused year after year

About lunchtime. All down when the children go to bed.

Already have. My toddler has paid lots of attention to stuff in the shops and we got some new bits. I then sorted loft and found loads. So when I sorted it I put it up with her every morning she gets up and puts the pumpkin lights on and wants the pumpkin candles lit.
We've already carved pumpkins too. As well do throughout the month.

We don’t do it anymore. But when the girls were little we used to carve a pumpkin & put up some decorations on the day so that people knew we had sweets in for trick or treaters.

Wish I had the time to fart about decorating my house every other week. Do people not have jobs any more??

I was really gutted to give up my job but the Christmas decorations needed to go up and I couldn't manage both in the same year. The benefits people were really understanding though. I spent my money from the public purse on plastic spiders and goats this year BTW.

This is the first year I have decorated for autumn. Nothing too much but a wreath, pumpkins by the front door.

The kids wanted too and it does make the house brighter. We will decorate for Halloween by carving the pumpkins and we have some decorations that go out every year tomb stone etc that will go out on Halloween.

Light candles for the departed souls and frown at all the plastic tacky stuff shortly to end up in landfill.

31st October. When did it become a thing to decorate in advance? Hmm

Genuinely intrigued by those who decorate for the seasons - can you give me an idea of what you do?

Autumn is my favourite time of year but other than chucking on some cosy sofa throws and putting out some tea lights it's never even occurred to me that others go all out.

I've done the autumnal decorations already but the scary stuff will go up next weekend! I bought a ghoul and he is sort of up already as we don't have anywhere to put him but all the other bits go up next week :D i love it so much!

We don't. We just put a spinning colourful bulb in the ceiling light.

@Pumpkinpied that's lovely my dd has the same bee cushion.
Dd and I are decorating for Halloween next Saturday a bit earlier than usual but with Covid we thought it would cheer us up😊
I have loads of decorations that I store and add to each year. We also do a pumpkin carving evening but that will be a few days before the 31st because they turn to mush so quickly. I don't suppose anyone knows a trick to make them last longer?

@Pumpkinpied that looks so pretty! I have the same Cornishware crockery.

I've never really done Halloween so have never decorated or "celebrated" it other than kids dressing up for school parties.

There are some houses with stuff up around here already though.

@burglarbettybaby Thank you I'll have a look in aldi and amazon then. And thank you

Report
burglarbettybaby · 11/10/2020 14:42

Lozz mine were real ones from aldi but I seen small white ones on amazon or people often craft a plastic orange pumpkin with chalk paint if you like crafting. Sorry for your loss

@burglarbettybaby please can I ask where you got white pumpkins from? I searched everywhere last year. I'm wanting one to go on my Baby's memorial
