Feeling inadequate about my body because of the trans ideology

Hi everyone! It's my first post on this forum because I'm so desperate to find at least some support and to feel seen, I feel like I'm the only woman in world who has this issue and it's so distressing, and since this forum is one of few gender critical ones, I'm here.

I want to say in advance that I have nothing against trans people, I'm fully supportive of them, I think they're people that deserve love and help. But this doesn't align with my feelings about my body. I've always been a little different from other women. Not completely masculine but tall (5'8), fairly straight body type, with moderate body hair. Also I have tuberous breasts which make me feel like I'm not womanly enough because I want to have a child in future and I want to breastfeed but tuberous breasts can be an obstacle in longer breastfeeding. Those all features make me feel less womanly. And it's so upsetting. But what makes me even more self conscious and sad is that I share some common features with trans women. And it makes me so sad when people compare women like me and trans women who are biologically males. I feel like my womanhood is fragile, that I am not that different from a biological male that takes HRT. I'm so scared of voicing this opinion because people would go "why are tou disgusted by the fact that you abd trans women share similar features? Trans women are women!". But I'm gender critical. So for me it's actually all backwards. It's that the fact that a male can realistically change his body to look more like mine and my unconventional features being used to prove that trans women are real women too that makes me so distressed. To the point I actually don't consider i have breasts, even though they're moderately sized and noticeable, I just feel like I'm not me.

I'm sorry if I offended someone. I'm just so sad and upset about how i feel about my body. I hope at least one wan here feels the same. I don't feel seen at all and everything on the internet makes me feel bigoted. Thank you!

Can people please stop with the disbelief that anyone in the UK can be mistaken for a male?

It happens, and it's damned rude to tell other women who've told you it does that it doesn't.

Edited

I don't disbelieve that.

Meteorite87 · 16/10/2026 20:05

An adult human female might be considered as looking "masculine" for multiple reasons but it does not change the biological fact they are a woman.

The height references to trans identifying males get under my skin occasionally because I'm over 6ft tall. I try not to dwell on them because the opinions of other people don't change reality.

You know when we all tell our kids not to share personal stories with randoms on the internet because they might not be who they say they are?

What do you mean?

I've been mistaken for a 'transwoman'! Not in the UK, but in places where women are smaller and TW are historically part of the culture. I'm also 5'8, rectangular and have PCOS.

Can't say it bothered me; I found it funny. But there was a period, while I was heavily involved in campaigning for sex realism, when I started to feel funny about my body and my femaleness. I was quite immersed in all the TRA arguments about 'womanhood' and the crap they spout at high volumes. It coincided with my menopause, which brought rapid changes in my appearance and spotlighted hormonal issues. With my own identity evolving amidst a constant stream of TRA-led edicts on what a woman is, I was vulnerable to confusion and it did throw me off balance.

Two things helped me fix it. First and most importantly, I have PCOS because I have ovaries (well, one ovary now!) No man has ovaries, whatever he calls himself. No woman has ever produced sperm. A woman is simply the female of our species: it's a reproductive category, not some confection of tits, hair and satin. I'm a female human; I'm a woman.

I look ridiculous in 'feminine' clothes, like someone's lace curtains blew onto the garden shed 😂 Instead of thinking of myself as analogous to those idiot blokes posing in pink tutus at shopping centres, I revived my interest in fashion - an almost-forgotten passion of mine - and am still having a lot of fun with it. I mean, I never did dress 'like a girl' so the analogy was a non-starter, but it got into my head because I was vulnerable.

One of the things I'd learned during extensive therapy, years ago, was the value of my personal likes and dislikes, my aims and abilities; a sense of my uniqueness. I re-embraced all of that and discovered I do actually like myself. My sex is an important part of who I am; it's not all I am. And no twat waffling on about 'womanhood' and social constructivism can re-define me or anyone else.

There's a million ways to be a woman. None of them include being a man! I'm fine, you're fine, they're okay but they're nuts 🤷‍♀️

Thank you!!🩷

It's not a problem at all. Along with being tall with very broad shoulders and narrow hips with a boy bum, I have a male level of self confidence and I looked him in the eyes, from above, and told him that I completely understood why he thought that but if he'd like to pop outside and meet my 6ft 3 husband he would assure him that I'm not. Can't think why, but he declined the offer 🤣

Yes, you need more self confidence, there's absolutely nothing wrong with your body.

If you're using AI to help you write this, can I suggest you use your own words? Your text is reading a bit artificial and people are disbelieving you and thinking you are paying to who up a storm.

Which is a shame, as I can testify to the fact that this is a genuine issue.

OMG no I don't use AI, I'm writing this all by myself 😭😭 sorry, I'm just not native and my English boost happened when i started using it. Damn

Actually, AI suggested it. That's why I doubt it. I don't trust anyone irl with it, no one knows about it because of it i have to resort to chatbots. So I still think AI makes me think I need it but i actually don't

Yeah, I'm a weirdo i guess. It indeed is strange and maybe I'm comparing myself to rare standards. I just wanted to express my feelings because it really can't leave my mind. I can't think of why would a man would want me sexually if I'm manly. And my relative had been feeding her son till he turned 1 year old. It's so wholesome and I'm upset that i might not experience that because of damned genetics

If you can't see it yet, I really can't help you.

I also doubt a mistake was made.

If bits of the Internet are making you feel less of a woman, my suggestion is to stay away from those sites.

This thread is slightly strange. Since being moderately tall, 'fairly straight' and 'moderately hairy' are perfectly normal female characteristics, it appears only to be your 'tuberous breasts' that give rise to your anxiety about being mistaken for a transwoman. But why would they? Do transwomen have tuberous breasts? And do they really interfere with breastfeeding??

I am butch - broad and short haired and hairy and pretty flat chested. Felt this keenly when younger but love it now - big, strong, capable, and big boobs aren’t much fun in terms of back ache and comfort. I am all woman and the fact that I get called ‘mate’ a bit or referred to as a he from time to time doesn’t change anything. Work on your confidence.

I’d love to know what these features are that you and males that identify as female have in common.
Regarding the shape of your breasts, I can guarantee that I have never looked at a woman’s breasts and known they were an unusual shape. That’s because all women I talk to are fully clothed!

Apart from the breast shape issue, OP could be describing me. And I've never been mistaken for a TW.

OP, if you were born female, you are a woman in every inch of your DNA.
Nothing can take that away, not infertility (women don't stop being women, let alone become men, at the menopause!) nor small breasts, nor anything you wear or do.
