Feeling inadequate about my body because of the trans ideology

Hi everyone! It's my first post on this forum because I'm so desperate to find at least some support and to feel seen, I feel like I'm the only woman in world who has this issue and it's so distressing, and since this forum is one of few gender critical ones, I'm here.

I want to say in advance that I have nothing against trans people, I'm fully supportive of them, I think they're people that deserve love and help. But this doesn't align with my feelings about my body. I've always been a little different from other women. Not completely masculine but tall (5'8), fairly straight body type, with moderate body hair. Also I have tuberous breasts which make me feel like I'm not womanly enough because I want to have a child in future and I want to breastfeed but tuberous breasts can be an obstacle in longer breastfeeding. Those all features make me feel less womanly. And it's so upsetting. But what makes me even more self conscious and sad is that I share some common features with trans women. And it makes me so sad when people compare women like me and trans women who are biologically males. I feel like my womanhood is fragile, that I am not that different from a biological male that takes HRT. I'm so scared of voicing this opinion because people would go "why are tou disgusted by the fact that you abd trans women share similar features? Trans women are women!". But I'm gender critical. So for me it's actually all backwards. It's that the fact that a male can realistically change his body to look more like mine and my unconventional features being used to prove that trans women are real women too that makes me so distressed. To the point I actually don't consider i have breasts, even though they're moderately sized and noticeable, I just feel like I'm not me.

I'm sorry if I offended someone. I'm just so sad and upset about how i feel about my body. I hope at least one wan here feels the same. I don't feel seen at all and everything on the internet makes me feel bigoted. Thank you!

Only if someone can't see or hear properly. Women and men walk (and talk) in a very different way. We have very different musculoskeletal systems and it's blatantly obvious which sex someone is as soon as you watch them move.

IME it's far more obvious to women than to men. Generalising, of course. Some women are a bit dense and some men are more astute!

Instructions · 16/10/2026 22:51

You are a woman and always will be. They are not women and never will be.

CohensDiamondTeeth · 16/10/2026 22:48

@Imdunfer and @GarlicEverything the OP hasn't been mistaken for a man by anyone. OP said this happened once "I was in a beanie and a coat and she said from the distance she thought it was a young man", and that's it.

The tone has shifted from "I feel inadequate about my body" to (and I'm paraphrasing here) "are GC people bigots?", and frankly the opening post just feels weird.

FWIW to the OP,

If a man is only interested in how you look, he's not a viable romantic partner. Total non starter, they aren't worth your time.

Lots of women who have children struggle to, or can't, breastfeed. They are still mums.

You don't have to conform to a specific look to be "womaning correctly". Fashions change, but you'll always be the same sex no matter what you look like or what you wear.

If this is genuine, I'd second (third? Forth?) the suggestion that OP finds a therapist and a GP to talk to about their feelings and concerns. It sounds like there's a lot going on that the women here can't really help with.

Also thank you really much for actually breaking this down. I'll seek counselling.

That'd be a great idea. Best wishes xx

To be entirely honest, OP, I'm not sure online is the right place for (paradoxically) your OP. It's too unpredictable for deep distress, with too much scope for unanticipated hurt. In particular, FWR is a (very successful!) locus for campaigning, and (as such!) has some very unsavoury types visiting, who appear to relish trying to upset women or promote their own agenda. Unfortunately for them, posters here are pretty canny and thick-skinned - and, above all, aware of the benefits of continuing to engage to some degree regardless: most posters want to protect women from the harm this ideology is causing, and this is what typically becomes apparent in the course of every thread overall, wherever it began, whatever the differing approaches to that taken, and however it eventually gets there.

In that sense, this particular one stands as further evidence of the care women have for each other and I hope understanding that can reassure you. However, the perceived advantages of seeking help anywhere online, including the salve of anonymity, and dopamine deceit of convincing yourself that posting and scrolling is you addressing a deeper-seated issue, can actually prolong or compound difficulties in the longer term. These require looking honesty about one's motives and needs, who one truly is and wants to be.

To go back to all I can offer, I'd look into counselling, choosing carefully depending on what your particular need is.

I have only skim read this thread, but this sort of coded in group type of comment doesn't help anyone.

Who are you to think you need to somehow protect other women.

If anyone is contributing to "bad actors", assuming that is the case here, coming back it is this type of smug know it all superiority.

But if you want to go on supplying others with screen shots of how FWR is just a bunch of mean girls, and keep threads going by obsessively posting carry on.

Otherwise maybe reflect that this thread may only have lasted a couple of pages.

We are all grown ups.

You never know, it may have allowed those who are genuine the opportunity to say something.

Perhaps you could create a thread and call it the inner circle so that those who think they are qualified decoders could compete with each other.

And yet here you are...😘

It isn't.

This thread has turned very odd and the change of voice raises big suspicions, but the issue of women being mistaken for men is a real one.

I am so sorry you feel horrible about the way you look. I think 5 8 is a lovely height and boobs come in all shapes and sizes but they are yours and you are ALL woman. No transwoman could even come close.

Ronaldos · 16/10/2026 22:30

I'm 5'7"" and been mistaken for a man . I blame the trans activists .

Not going to lie, I have no idea what a tuberous breast is. Is it shaped like a potato?

It is a mystery how male persons with no breasts manage to wear bras to appear to have breasts and female persons with tuberlous breasts cannot hide this from others by wearing bras.

A mystery.

OK, but women with this breast shape often do have a complex about it. They probably don't in the parts of the world where it is common, but it isn't in Europe or America, and isn't depicted in our media unless you're looking at bra fitting advice. They can feel like they're 'abnormal'.

Just a minute. I posted my experience, which I've related on here before. Other women shared their differently relevant experiences. My best friend in the 1990s was frequently addressed as Sir by waiters, etc - I was there - for no better reason than she wore short hair and trouser suits. (No women made this mistake, btw; men often did.)

It's not really on to invalidate the issue as odd and ridiculous. We're telling you it's not.

I try to answer posts in a spirit of cautious good faith. I observe others doing the same. I agree it'd be wise for OP to get some support with her self-esteem.

Cailleach1 · 16/10/2026 22:22

This is rather a strange thread. Does anybody know what ‘tuberous’ breasts are, and why they are a problem when breastfeeding. Indeed why would they be like moobs on men. The mammary glands are what produce the milk after giving birth.

If one of the things you have in common with ‘transwomen’ is a penis and/or testicles (whether inside, outside, turned all about the house), that would certainly be a reason to feel less like a woman. In fact, you wouldn’t be a woman at all, as women don’t have these.
