I thought this was interesting:

BBC Factual and BBC Scotland announce J.K. Rowling (w/t), a two-part documentary series from Rogan Scotland …which traces Rowling’s dramatic rise, cultural influence and contested legacy, using her life as a lens through which to explore three decades of profound social, political and technological change.

I haven’t seen of those other Rogan Scotland documentaries mentioned in the article so no idea what the typical ‘tone’ is. Thoughts? The article makes it sound balanced.

The quote doesn't say it's controversial.

Nothing she's said is divisive or fraught.

Actually, it isn't. Nothing she has ever said is particularly controversial. Moreover, the vast, vast majority of humanity agrees with her 100%. It's only a small number of fringe activists and loons who have a problem with her and the only reason their presence is amplified is because they have captured institutions such as the BBC.

As for whatever type of dialogue she has or hasn't sparked, the whole point of the attacks on her is in fact to prevent any dialogue.

I wont be baited, sorry.

Good for you, meanwhile in reality can you answer the question in response to your post, what rights don't 'Trans' have?

Lol, being asked to explain your position is "baiting" now, is it?

Perhaps the actual truth is that trans-identified people really do have equal rights with everyone else and your disinclination to clarify is because you know that's true and you have no argument.

BunnyBunbunbun · 13/10/2026 18:47

TheGentleHelper · 13/10/2026 16:59

She has set trans rights back decades. I can't stand her.

Which trans rights have been set back? Explain yourself, because as far as I can tell trans-identified people have exactly the same rights as everyone else.

It's quite something to say you can't stand someone but then be unable to explain just why. That's more of a reflection on you than the other person.

Proof is transphobic.

Asking for proof is even more transphobic

I cant believe that at a time when even the BBC itself, acknowledges that many women that the media constantly focuses on, are more likely than not to then be the subject of violent threats.

It is totally irresponsible to make it an issue based documentary but centre it on one women.

Its not as if TRAs aren't known for their violence.

I dont know if the idea originated at the BBC (the hate her enough) or this slick production company.

Unbelievable to depth to which the media will stoop, and those who feed off the cess pit.

Maybe all those Labour waste of spaces who are now droning on about stopping violence against women could step, particularly as this is the BBC.

Agree with this.

The BBC has a long long history of being anti-woman and anti-safeguarding.

I hope it's even handed, but I question their choices when surely they know she's already exposed to a huge threat from violent and unstable men and this could fuel that.

If it's not factually accurate, which being the BBC I doubt, I look forward to her taking them to court for defamation.

EtsyKetsy · 13/10/2026 17:58

That’ll be wall to wall drag queens all slagging her off if it’s the BBC

So you have no proof then.

AstonCanKissMyArse · 13/10/2026 17:21

Im not sure what is 'baiting' about asking someone more about their random opinion on a discussion board.

I see the "I just want to put the boot in, but haven't got any proof of wrongdoing/ actual argument" tedium is alive and well.

Hopefully we can expect a bit more factual analysis from the actual TV programme 🤞although given its the beeb I'm not holding my breath.

Trans people would be more able to protect their rights if this myth wasn't propagated by people who apparently don't care about their rights.

AstonCanKissMyArse · 13/10/2026 17:00

polarising public figure

Its hardly her fault if a load of batshit muppets decide to completely misrepresent something moderate and reasonable that she's said, then continually stoke envious hatred against her.

Many men - off the top of my head, Richard Dawkins, Ricky Gervais and the Proclaimers lads say similar, but because they're men they don't get hounded with death and rape threats, nor held up as some kind of failed paragon of virtue.
