Welcome to thread 6.

This is a support area for women who are, or have been, in unhappy relationships with male partners who are transitioning, or exploring their "gender identity"

If you are in that position-

  1. You are not alone
  2. It is not a situation that you should be expected to tolerate, let alone celebrate.
  3. There is always a way out, if you want it. The thread is called Escape Committee for a reason.

Remember: women talking to each other is a powerful weapon!

The main event this year outisde the thread will hopefully be the release of Vaishnavi Sundar's film about Trans Widows- Behind the Looking Glass

If you would like to donate to help Vaishnavi finish the project, details are here:

Please feel free to say "Hi" below, even if you are not a trans widow, to start the thread off.

Sorry was not on much her for last few day. Life was full.of ups and downs. I am.struggling mentally. I have disconnected with my ex on most social media and last night i went to bluesky where I never was active and he has changed his name there and simply said I am a girl now! And loads of people liking it and applauding him. Oh his new facebook accountbi can see uiet a few common friends and it is jind of disheartening. It was just sickening and made me think, am I the problem? Am I wrong being a TERF believer? I can say I am.selfish and hating it that he is getting everything he wants so easily without losing anything. How can I find peace? This forum is my therapy as I cant afford it 😄.

“Being a TERF believer” is holding onto material reality. Don’t blame yourself for not being part of his delusion.

It's hard to wean off stalking them online but if you can pause and ask yourself if you're likely to find out anything helpful to you, it reduces the pain and button -pressing. Over time I found I did it less and less.
Seeing him lose nothing and gain a lot makes you feel worse. I was able to remind myself that I had my integrity and honesty, my kids, and my self-respect. Along with stuff like job, home, friends. I wonder if you are able to look less at what he has gained and more at what you have kept and can develop for yourself as time goes on.

The initial buzz and attention they get doesn't last and a reality will set in at some point. But if you can focus on you, it's the start of rebuilding your life. What's good in your life independent of him?
Not saying any of this is easy...

I am off all social media and this was the only left and now deleted. I dont even see him when he comes ro drop off the kids after his week. What really hurts me is the kids and friends have accepted him so easily. He is feeding of the dopamine of his newly found identity of being a "girl" and praying on social media in his new avatar. You are right I should start thinking what i have and appreciate it x

It takes time to in any way detach just for short periods and focus on yourself. The kids part must be really hard. Try to know that it will get better over time.

I saw this list of affirmations on a support forum for wives somewhere and it has been helping me if I read it when I'm overwhelmed. I thought I'd post it here incase others find it useful.

I can survive this moment. I have survived every moment before it.
My emotions are intense, but they are not dangerous.
I don’t have to solve anything today. Today I only have to breathe.
I am allowed to pause. I am allowed to rest.
I can return to my skills. They have carried me through worse storms.
I am safe in this moment, even if I don’t feel steady yet.
I can take this one hour at a time.
This shock does not define me.
His choices are not a reflection of my value.
I am allowed to feel hurt, confused, angry, and scared.
I can hold my truth without collapsing into shame.
I am worthy of honesty, respect, and emotional safety.
I can rebuild trust in myself, even if trust in others feels broken.
I am allowed to take time before making any decisions.
I am still whole, even in the middle of this rupture.

Ladies- I've been lurking and I think I need some sense talked into me.

Found out the man I've been seeing is into sissy, forced femminization stuff.

Tbh there's been issues in the relationship with him acting like I'm the one with issues and I need therapy. So when I found out I thought- ah maybe this is the issue. He's suppressing a bit of himself and if I can show him I love both sides of him hell chill out.

Ashamed to say I ordered stuff to peg him thinking I could pretend it was my idea. And maybe then he'd open up...

But I'm setting myself up for pain arn't I. He doesn't respect women therefore he won't respect me?

Don't find men in girls clothes attractive in the least.

Seems it always gets worse too.
