I thought this merited a separate thread instead of my posting it on the main 'Glinner cancelled in Edinburgh' one - happy to remove if not.

Andrew Doyle has just tweeted that, after a second venue cancelled the Comedy Unleashed gig with Glinner, the gig is now going to Holyrood.

I'm astonished (but very happy) that none of them ever learn by it. You'd think they would have by now.

Their egos and individual narcissism always win over restraint and strategic planning. And that's why they will ultimately lose.

I suspect you are right, Eresh. Thankfully!

Can sex offences become spent then?

Yes. Unbelievably.

Well that is truly horrifying.

Reading the Reduxx story mention in Glinner's tweet has just made me so angry all over again.

The damage that has been done.

And so much of it enabled by the police, and then amplified by transtwitterati.

They are just loathsome human beings.

And unfortunatley Glinner isn't the only one.

But yes - so glad that the show must go on saying, not only happened but shed light on this evil network of bullying.

"Tiddly rays".

😂😂😂

I am so using that for ever and ever.

Oh I would absolutely pay to watch a stream of this!

Me too.

StephanieSuperpowers · 18/08/2023 13:37

It's actually a very good turn out for a very last minute thing. It's hard for lots of people to get out without a good bit of notice. And it's a very odd coincidence for the old tiddly rays, they've really put the hard yards into promoting @glinner this week, and then one of their most valiant warriors has this story dropped. Unlucky.

The Passion of St Linehan.

Love you Glinner, wish I could see your show.

Maybe because Glinner mentioned Hayden’s convictions. Although not libellous (because true), there are laws preventing media outlets from referring to a person’s spent convictions.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 18/08/2023 11:21

I can't attend but if I could I'd take placards that read 'careful now' and 'down with this sort of thing'.

DworkinWasRight · 18/08/2023 10:40

I posted the above before I saw that someone had already mentioned it on the Hayden thread.

Funny ain’t it? Channels like talk usually like it when their stuff goes viral - why so coy re: this one?

Glorious to see the TRAs so massively Streisanded by their own whiny petulance.

How can Peter Tatchell smear campaign someone else when he was actively involved in PIE?

Yep, I think that puts it in a nutshell. Here lies the end of One True Faith dominating the UK, and may it RIP.

Bravo Glinner.

Gaun yersel’, Glinner!

Floisme · 18/08/2023 07:55

Only just heard about this. Marvellous.
Well done Glinner.
Well done Andrew Doyle.

And well done all the tinpot witchfinder generals who protested the original venues. I understand there would only been room for about 100 people if it had gone ahead as originally planned, but look what you did, even the Guardian has had to cover it now. Top work.

IwantToRetire · 18/08/2023 00:47

Without saying or knowing whether it was inspired by KJK, what this pop up venue solution has done, is shown how much complete clap trap is written and said about Glinner and others speaking up for women's sex based rights, when an open air venue means it is in plain sight.

If only the well know street video person (whose name I've forgotten) had been there to record it and share online.

Even if it wasn't the best show in the world, it would illustrate that the over the top rhetoric by TRAs is just hot air and spite.

I dont doubt there will be full tantrums on social media and attempts to misrepresent, but this whole catalogue of own goals by the TRAs will have had an impact.

So thanks to @Glinner for staying strong and to the fellow comedians who didn't pull out. And whoever got that tiny stage and mike in place.

PyongyangKipperbang · 18/08/2023 00:23

Another one here @glinner who thanks you on behalf of humanity!!
