They are radicalising people who are too online.

Have posted this on the thread about Joanne Cherry's Edinburgh as C4 news, surprise surprise might light of any contentious comments (mainly by not reference MB at all) but was able to show that gender crictical feminists are just sad old curmudgeon, just look at all these people showing trans can be fun.

I've met the ladies in the WWW Tshirts a few times now, they're great.

'Yousaf is typical of far too many male politicians, particularly those who like to think of themselves as on the left. They pay lip service to women’s rights, but it is feminism on their terms. They rarely talk of the economic divide that keeps so many women in poverty, or of the institutional sexism that sees men maintain supremacy – a recent Fawcett Society report showed that women are outnumbered two to one in positions of power.

Instead they, and their handmaids, patronise with us clumsy messaging, waving pink hearts – or driving pink buses – while mouthing platitudes about our “rights” as if they were theirs to give away. But women have no need for sparkly slogans. What we want, what we really, really want, is an end to the economic, cultural and political oppression that has kept us down throughout history. Humza Yousaf has a lot to learn.'

What a prick that guy is. I just think of him falling over on his little scooter, every time he speaks.

'This thing you call 'sexism', I have not heard of such a thing, and these all seem to be women arguing amongst themselves and it does not concern me in the slightest.'

This. Youseless isn’t interested in defending women so he pretends he’s not aware of sexism or misogyny.

“Forgive me for being out of the loop.”

Out of the loop? Is he seriously trying to make out that the SNP doesn’t have a media team monitoring press coverage and briefing him, the party leader, on it?

Trans debate takes centre stage at Edinburgh Fringe

In the year following the Scottish Government's controversial Gender Recognition Bill, it's perhaps unsurprising that some shows at this year's Edinburgh Fringe are touching on the subject of trans rights.

Another MC white kid appropriating WC creds and playing to the gallery for the forthcoming media career. I'm sure she will have a lovely time naval gazing and putting the world to rights (in a way which demands nothing of them) with youtube Owen/Ash/Penny.

IwantToRetire · 10/08/2023 17:03

I know there are some good constituency MPs, but we never hear about them. Probably too busy helping people who may or may not have voted for them.

But always remember hearing about one (quite left) Labour MP who resigned on the grounds that he didnt think that as an MP he had elected to be a social worker for his constituents.

Not thinking that maybe as an MP he could create the change that would mean constituents in run down boroughs wouldn't have to rely on social workers (or MPs doing their job) to be able to get on and live their lifes.

@ArabeIIaScott you can listen to Shelagh on LBC radio catch up for yesterday, I think it’s there for 6 days, her programme is 1 -4, and the hour on this subject is 3 -4

Thanks!

Ha. It's the photo opportunists that surprised me, Frood.

One turned up at my workplace once, ostensibly to talk about what we did. Some effort was expended in presenting information, however his eyes noticeably glazed over as we tried to talk/discuss anything and he just started nodding like one of those dog ornaments. Cut someone off, managed a giant cheesy grin for the press camera, then fucked off again, having barely exchanged a word with anyone.

That was, apparently, the entire purpose of his visit.

Call me naive, but what the fuck is the point?

In my experience this is very much not the SNP approach. I've had many SNP MPs and MSPS - each and every one has had different arrogance levels, but all have operated on a 'we know best what's good for you' basis.

The hallmark of the leftist politician sadly. Mandelson was quite frank about the desire for a 'post democratic era' in which the proles would just go about their little lives and experts like him would make all the decisions and do unto them as they saw best.

You'd think they'd all be much happier somewhere like Russia or North Korea, that seems to be the spiritual home.

And then there's the 'set to broadcast, not receive' ones who are just.... I met one once at a local charity event, which was a brilliant opportunity to learn about some really outstanding community activities and support them. No one could get a word in edgewise and they did not learn or hear one thing the entire time they were there. They just evangelised at everyone about their personal hobby horse, which was searching for a particularly well known missing child, by going on holiday, sitting on beaches and studying the surrounding children.

Madder than a box of frogs.

https://www.spiked-online.com/2023/08/09/mhairi-black-is-the-real-reactionary-here/

Spiked editorial.

'Gender-critical feminists are not the reactionaries in the trans debate. All they are arguing for is women’s rights, gay rights and freedom of speech. Meanwhile, their critics call them names and tell them to shut up – or worse, hurl punches, death threats and try to get them sacked. If you really think this is the progressive side to be on, Mhairi, then I don’t know what to tell you.'

Can anyone share a link to the Shelagh F article? I couldn't see one.

Mhairi Black is the real reactionary here

Comparing gender-critical feminists to racists is a new low even for her.

Absolutely brilliant piece from Shelagh F there. Insightful, intelligent, thoughtful, measured - all the things that Mhairi Black, who has become a national embarrassment, is not. I sincerely hope Black is reflecting upon her offensive choice of words and comes to realise what a complete tosser she is.

Completely agree, Shelagh at her very best there.
