Tweet says
Hello everyone,

A little later than planned but here is the update… please share.❤️

I gave another interview today but the full version is subject to a response from the public enquiry team…. It’s a long one but it’s my story in my words 😊

Thank you once again for your support

there's a video in the tweet. It appears Zayna is being left out of the loop a bit. Purely coincidental I'm sure! given her issues are more than just strip search

Cailleachian · 12/08/2023 03:01

Its all very well having an inquiry into strip searches - but there is substantial evidence that this woman was raped, and yet there seems to be no investigation into this, merely shrugging and lost cctv.

The inquiry looks like a cover up already.

You were suggesting that "...I sometimes think the cops seem to have become even more negligent and lazy about rape cases since DNA evidence...."

DNA is just part of the evidence - so I'm not sure why you think it makes cops negligent and lazy?

DarkDayforMN · 04/08/2023 23:32

DNA is just part of the evidence - it shows that one person has been in contact or in close proximity to another. It will never be able to show consent or not on its own.

Whatever you’re responding to, it wasn’t addressed to you and you didn’t understand it. And duh.

Alltheprettyseahorses · 04/08/2023 10:31

This is utterly horrifying. I hope she gets the justice she deserves. How many other women will have endured similar ordeals at the hands of the police?

Felix125 · 04/08/2023 09:33

What evidence was 'fabricated'?

The two witnesses provided statements and signed to say 'what appears in the statement is true and accurate' 'I am liable to prosecution if I have willfully stated anything which is false' or words to that effect. It falls under the Criminal Prosecution Rules, Criminal Justice Act and the Magistrates Court Act.

They then stand in court and swear on oath that what they are saying is true.

So what evidence have the police fabricated?

Lol, he was the wrong guy!

Take it up with the jury and the court then

How about we take it up with the police that fabricated evidence Felix?

Boiledbeetle · 04/08/2023 02:16

As my previous post probably won't reappear it was a direct link to the video in this tweet

Woman alleges sexual assault by Greater Manchester Police whilst in custody
DarkDayforMN · 04/08/2023 01:54

I sometimes think the cops seem to have become even more negligent and lazy about rape cases since DNA evidence.

Which makes me wonder how many of the rape cases they actually bothered with in the past were fit ups. There have been a lot of high profile examples.

People are socialised from birth to accept ' girls are bitchy and manipulative ' .

Indeed. How many times do we hear of "i bet that little girl can wrap daddy around her little finger" or "she's going to break some hearts when she grows up" which somehow morphs into manipulative bitch in some men and women's minds.

It's not something I've heard b

AHugeTinyMistake · 28/07/2023 20:49

Absolutely disgusting @Boiledbeetle

Filth by name, filth by nature

Thread seems to be becoming a catalogue of police misdeeds against women. I approve.

Dumbo12 · 28/07/2023 17:39

The lost cctv and the 40 hours in custody should be provoking a very thorough investigation, by an independent body.

Myalternate · 28/07/2023 17:35

If only GMP would release the 3 hours of ‘missing’ CCTV coverage, they could easily put a stop to any speculation. The fact that it is unavailable for whatever reason, suggests there is something they don’t want to show.

Clearly, they do have something to hide.

Datun · 28/07/2023 17:05

BellsMoon · 28/07/2023 12:58

"They were like savages," says Sinead Foley, 37, who was strip searched by police in Birmingham in November last year.

Another reads: "The CCTV of me pinned naked on my back in a cell by four/five officers then pepper sprayed is 'not available'."

Another said: "I struggle with the memories of what happened to me. The officer who assaulted me was sadistic, he got off on having that power over me."

Ugh. What animals. Unfortunately, no one on here is surprised. And I'm including people trying to pretend that junkies committing perjury at the behest of the police are 'giving evidence'.

RoseslnTheHospital · 28/07/2023 15:47

It's not on the BBC, I did a manual trawl through the possible relevant sections and used their search facility as well. A bit shit really seeing as most other major news outlets, as well as local news ones, have covered at least some parts of the incident.

RavingStone · 28/07/2023 15:43

What an appalling story. Has the BBC not bothered with it at all? I couldn't find it. I don't understand why it doesn't remain a headline until GMP fucking explain the lack of CCTV footage.

All we need to ask ourselves is who precisely benefits from keeping the status quo exactly as it is.

What does does perplex me is why so many women seem so keen to buy into this narrative. What's in it for them?

If all the women being assaulted are “bad”, then being “good women” themselves means they won’t be assaulted. Of course that turns into a “no true Scotsman” argument, where if you are assaulted you have to be “bad” by definition, or it couldn’t have happened.

RocketPanda · 28/07/2023 15:11

People are socialised from birth to accept ' girls are bitchy and manipulative ' . Look at any thread on here on MN about having sons and no daughters and there are multiple posters crowing about bitchy girls.

Has anyone ever seen the thread on twitter about five years ago about how old women were when men were inappropriate towards them? Thousands of stories. Men who rape and sexually assault are not rare. I bet most of us here have several stories.
And yet the default from so many is that the women are liars and they will do anything to preserve that narrative. I often wonder why.
