Well done to the hotel staff. ‘trans ‘woman’ given key to the unisex changing room instead of the female changing room ‘trans woman’ not happy.

And?? They can believe what they like but they’re a man and the fact they know they don’t pass as a woman reconfirms it

its not women’s job to shore up men’s delusions

Absolutely. Women are not human support vessels. Anne is 'determined' to use those facilities and to hell with women's discomfiture. This says something interesting about Anne. And what it says has more to do with Anne's attitude to other women than any personal beliefs about gender presentation.

It was pretty obvious when the land-grab of women's spaces started that predatory men could and would take advantage. This has (predictably) been borne out with the percentage of males transitioning to feminine gender presentation in prisons.

The fetishists are not branded on their foreheads with the divine stigma. No one can tell who is a threat simply by looking at them.

The safest and only viable solution is NO natal males in women's spaces.

@chinook

Raise this with your club safeguarding officer and make sure your team manager (if you have one at the meet - if not then the coach) knows so that they can raise it with the meet organisers. If there are other parents there raise it together as a group.

Email the British Swimming safeguarding lead [email protected]

No way should a male be in a changing room where teenage girls are struggling in and out of race suits.

Annaishere · 26/07/2023 10:36

They believe they have the wrong body

*Anne is, to quote Anne's own words, 'determined' to use the female changing areas, even though a perfectly safe and comfortable alternative had been offered.

Why?*

because they believe they are a woman

But Anne doesn't believe that. Anne knows full well which sex Anne is.

Annaishere · 26/07/2023 10:35

No my names Anna. I made it a while ago. I don’t think it’s funny

Some of these comments are unfair. To say it’s a fetish etc. They have a mental health issue

Is your name a joke, @Annaishere?

few of us think Anna’s behavuour is funny or acceptable.

Annaishere · 26/07/2023 10:34

No I wouldn’t affirm it. They need treatment

Either way adults need to safeguard the girls.

Hopefully this will be picked up on by the media and people will actually remember girls need safeguarding more than males need validation.

Annaishere · 26/07/2023 10:33

Lol that was random @babayhaga

It's a fetish for some. Just like drag is a fetish for some gay men.

They don't believe they are a woman. They know their body is that of a man but their mind due to trauma or attention seeking or kink etc is telling them that it's ok to dress like a woman and fight for their "oppression".

If I was to tell you I was black, despite for white and European parents; you would tell me to shut up. You would be saying I'm mentally ill, yet we don't for trans? We tell them they are "real women".

Martina Big with her big massive boobs and now pretending to be black is a perfect example of mental illness.

Inserting yourself into a changing room full of teenage girls and creating a situation whereby they are forced to get changed in front of you sounds more like a fetish or a perversion to me

There may be plenty of trans people for whom it is a mental health issue and there is no fetish. They aren't the ones watching teenagers get changed

And let's not forget that people like Anne are the people insisting that this isn't a mental health issues and to call it a mental health issue is transphobia. So they would consider your comment to be equally unfair.

Even if Anne was the loveliest, kindest, most gentle and inoffensive trans person that ever walked the Earth, it doesn’t matter. Women have a right to say no to males in their female-only spaces.

I agree. And Anne isn't. Kind, gentle, inoffensive people don't stampede over others' rights and to hell with whether it makes them uncomfortable.

The men who are elbowing their way into women's spaces in this way, are the last men who have any business anywhere near those spaces.

Anne is, to quote Anne's own words, 'determined' to use the female changing areas, even though a perfectly safe and comfortable alternative had been offered.

Why?

It could well be a mental health issue but the behaviour still results in fetishism. Women and girls should still be protected and safeguarded whether the threat comes from mental health issues or deviant fetishism.

They have to accept they are.

Parents have the power to stop this - why aren't they? Why aren't they protecting their children and raising them to be assertive?

This person competes with women after having a lifetime of advantage of being a man. Swim times change after puberty to recognise the massive improvement that make puberty gives. But let's just tell the girls that one of those boys you're competing with might say they are a woman in future years and compete against you and take your place, records etc.

I agree parents have the power to stop this but it's clear parents are not being told about this so don't know. I bet loads have quietly removed their daughters from events if they do know.

We have to raise safeguarding complaints and demand our money back. Children's sports clubs rely on the money from parents and often volunteering too. I will refuse to give either to any club that so clearly has a policy that my daughter's rights (to safeguarding as per uk law as well as dignity, privacy, fair competition) are less important than anyone male. In fact the rights of tens of girls count less than one entitled male.

I can't imagine the Dads being ok with this either....the clubs have deliberately covered this up is my guess. Possibly tried to bully and gaslight the kids into silence (in manner of what happened to Riley Gaines)

Please don't hesitate to get the Mail onto this if the swim club doesn't respond promptly and with full awareness of this safeguarding fail.

No male knowingly enters a changing room full of teenage girls with honest intentions.

I agree. The girls need someone to step up. They can’t do anything.

SequentialAnalyst · 26/07/2023 09:43

Solidarity to those teenage swimmers.

CorruptedCauldron · 26/07/2023 09:31

It’s awful that young girls have had to get changed in front of this individual. It explains why Anne had no qualms about spitting the dummy in front of the masses on Twitter after being directed to the unisex facilities at the hotel. As far as Anne is concerned, Anne has already been using women’s facilities unchallenged and has been able to see young girls in a state of undress. So how dare anyone tell Anne to stop now?

It’s time that the rights of women and girls were respected. It’s not hateful to want single-sex spaces for women and girls, and it doesn’t interfere with a trans person’s life. Women having their own spaces doesn’t stop a trans person from wearing whatever they want, using whatever name and pronouns they want, calling themselves whatever gender they want, and playing a fulfilling role in society. Single-sex spaces protect the safety, dignity and privacy of women.

As for this meriting a separate thread, maybe it could be an AIBU?

And these men who insist on needing to use women's facilities to feel safe are nothing but devious. The deliberate demure outer clothes to give the appearance of being harmless and no threat to anyone. Yet once in the can't help but expose themselves.

It was like that NHS employee a while back. The female staff were told they had to put up with him wandering around their changing rooms with his dick out. When staff took matters into their own hand by leaving him notes, he sued the NHS for bullying.

I hope this whole sorry ideology implodes on itself.
