She was cleared but she was still investigated by police which included seizing her computer.

Meanwhile Graham Linehan threatens to enter women's toilets to drag women out by their feet and nothing happens.

Only Graham is responsible for Grahams tweets.

If he did something wrong no doubt the police followed up your complaints about GL threatening a woman yes?

But do you mean a woman woman or a male woman?. I'm curious as to whether GL is just threatening to pull random women out of the women's toilets or to pull a man who shouldn't be in the women's toilet out of them.

The devil is in the detail.

Well would you Adam and Eve it! I'm glad the Police took it seriously, although I do wish they'd take the other more explicit threats as seriously. The judge!? Since when is rape not violence?

I get way too much use out of this meme.

I think the argument goes that she was standing around in a public place voicing the belief in equality for women. So she asked for it. Or something.

Hello Gilead, how did you get here?

Sounds about right.

Outrageous that both headlines call the person making sexually violent threats a woman.

Aye,Adam's not fooling anyone is he?

You've really upset someone with a message that could at a push be described as a joke, but is certainly easily read as a threat by professionals as well as the recipient.

I'm not absolutely sure you really meant to actually upset anyone, and it's just a woman and you didn't like her, so I'm forced to find you not guilty.

Circumferences · 12/07/2023 11:05

Male violence apologists in positions of power now there's a surprise.

Circumferences · 12/07/2023 11:04

"Pop" can also mean punch.
So that's fine then.

ArabeIIaScott · 12/07/2023 11:03

Yes, his defence seemed to be that he didn't mean by 'pop' Cherry that he'd shoot her, but that he'd sexually assault her.

It's not like rape threats are fine but murder threats aren't. I'm not sure what the judge meant by '“This was a very unwise message that no doubt caused a great deal of concern.“But I have some doubt, reasonable doubt, as to your guilt in the matter so you are therefore acquitted and I find you not guilty.”

Doubt as to guilt - is that a technical issue about whether Eve/Adam actually sent the message?

That's a threat of rape and or gun violence.

Is it ok to make threats if we include a joke or pun now? Or only when targeting women?

pickledandpuzzled · 12/07/2023 10:56

How can that not be a rape threat?
