It's their sexism. Which is inherent.

They genuinely believe that femininity is unequivocally tied to being female, and cannot be something that men can be, or women may not be.

This is all orchestrated 'misunderstanding' of the TERF position to allow themselves the ability to say 'oh really, I thought it was X' and do their reverse ferret without as much jeering as they might have got if they just said 'I apologise, I got it wrong'.

But that original statement makes me want to scream. We have no interest in restricting femininity. You can have that, lads! I’m happy never to wear make-up and a dress again.
