To ask everyone who has heard of using pronouns to watch this?

I watched it. I feel strongly that if someone tells me not to watch or read something then I should. I will use JKR as my example why we should look it up for ourselves not rely on what others say.

I think the video was a brilliant explanation of how someone can move from "be kind" to understanding. It made the point well with clear examples and no unnecessary waffle.

The video makes no reference to her other beliefs and opinions so as a stand alone I do agree it's a good starting point to explain why preferred pronouns are such a problem. As many people have already said: we can agree with some on one point and grossly disagree on most others.

I genuinely think it's a tactic used to keep women from uniting. To point out ways we are different or disagree so we then focus on that rather than the topic at hand. I would march next to a racist against gender ideology, and I would March next to a TRA against racism. The point is we speak keep speaking and peak people to what is happening

@moomoola I would advise you to google her. Scads of info out there so you can make up your own opinion. Mind you, those who are conservative will, no doubt, not find much to disagree with. Which is their right, of course.

Incantations ? Perhaps I need to be burned at the stake as a witch? 🙄 I am not keeping anyone, nor trying to keep anyone, from watching this video. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. And my opinion of kelly (and her ilk) is exactly what I posted.

Furthermore, I am not a gender ideologue by any definition. I don’t use they/them and I do not believe one can change one’s biological sex. I also do not believe men should compete in women’s sports.

However, I personally find kelly (and her ilk) vile and odious for their general hate-mongering, and gleeful attempts to add fuel to the current inflammatory political climate in the US. There is no legitimacy to the 6 jan insurrection-minimizing kelly and other right wing extremist push, and it is dangerous to try to minimize such an event. As for her bigotry/racism, google it.

Lastly, I will happily retract ‘bible thumper’ and replace it with ‘an aggressively zealous advocate of christian fundamentalism’, if that suits.

I had never heard of MK prior to seeing this video. I’m also left wing politically, but I think she nailed it. I wish I could argue my case as fluently, to be honest.

She may well have other views that I find repellent; it doesn’t mean I can’t agree with her on this.

Logic? This is a feminist board and you're wondering why there's pushback on some anti-feminist right winger whose deeply conservative views happen to coincide with the GC view on one issue? She only has her platform in the first place because her content serves and promotes the patriarchal power structures that suppress women. If this is video is lightbulb moment for you then good for you (must be pretty dark in your head) but some of us already figured out pronouns by ourselves and don't need to be patronised. Sadly this board used to have really good GC feminist discussion and information but is now inundated by this type of low quality GC adjacent rightwing shitposting.
