Now the Bank of England throws women under the bus

Having had a bad night's sleep over Mika the 'mum' I read this:

The Bank of England has stated that people of any gender identity can become pregnant.

The Bank came 57th in Stonewall’s annual list last year after submitting a 103-page application. This revealed that in June 2021 the Bank had introduced a “family leave” policy that included the phrase “birthing parent” to mean mother. The Bank’s parental bereavement leave policy “talks about parents without specifying gender”, its application said.

It emphasised that the term meant “the parent who is/was pregnant with the child but includes persons of any and all gender identities”. It also detailed the Bank’s commitment to gender-neutral lavatories, stating that it planned to “upgrade” its facilities. That included a commitment to ensure that the seventh floor of its headquarters in London offered only unisex lavatories.

I am just so sick of this

People of any gender can be pregnant, Bank of England states

Central bank also offers to help staff to pay for gender reassignment treatment using private medical insurance

I agree that people of any gender identity can get pregnant, as long as several other conditions are also met, largely relating to their bodies being female and functioning in a certain way, and carrying out certain acts with other people of any gender identities with different conditions being met.

It's almost as if gender identity has nothing whatsoever to do with sex.

You may as well say "owners of any model of car can get pregnant".

That should say 'as opposed to for example POC that didn't matter.'

I'm sick of it too. I'm starting to think women will be kept like cattle in the future :(

Does anyone remember the actress who was Linda Lovelace back in the 70s? she did a very thoughtful interview with Gloria Steinem in abook of essays Steinem wrote and she said one thing that has always stuck with me - 'one day they're going to be selling women's skins by the side of the road.' IIRC she was talking about pornography but it's equally applicable to this. I've been around a while and this is like the 70s - the complete and utter contempt for women that men aren't even bothering to hide now.

How are all these supposedly intelligent people falling so hard for this? is it because they aren't thinking about the implications down the road (which makes you really wonder about that intelligence) or do they really despise women that much that they want our total erasure?

In some ways I think it's the first. I used to work for a venue that laid on exhibitions and events and one organiser sent us an email that a controversial speaker was giving some speeches and that we weren't to say a word if anyone from the media rang up and asked about it. I looked the man up out of curiosity and it turned out he was one of those anti-feminist speakers - you know the type. All the things that have gone wrong with the world are since women got the vote and started having a voice and we need to make society MALE again. I emailed the colleague and asked just what sort of message she thought she was given to the rest of the women working for the company when a platform was being given to views that a lot of women would find abhorrent - she admitted she hadn't thought about it. Yet she'd thought about it to the extent she knew he was controversial - but because it was directed against women as opposed to POC that didn't matter.

Ffs. So stupid.

It is odd that the issue of gender identity and parenthood should manifest in this way. The Gender Recognition Act is quite clear that a woman's status as a mother is a matter of fact (or indeed a man's status as a father) and is not changed even when they have acquired a new gender under the provisions of that Act.

They will always be a mother regardless of their gender status.

Where we anywhere other than under the bus?

Any gender identity but only one sex can get pregnant.
