'A female-only lesbian advocacy group in France was excluded from their local Pride parade on the basis that they did not allow the membership of trans-identified males. Femmes Entre Elles was labeled “transphobic” for restricting its advocacy to issues faced by women.
Femmes Entre Elles, which translates to “Women Among Themselves,” is a single-sex association for lesbian and bisexual women that has operated for over 30 years. It has been involved in campaigns to support women’s sex-based rights and the rights of lesbian women.
But on May 27, the group was informed via email that they were not welcome to participate in the annual Pride march in Rennes'

Righteous violence is justified in the face of women saying things that men disagree with.

I see.

Oh, I see. Lesbians are free to organise their own pride but they'll get threats and violent aggression when they do so.

I don't know that's 'entirely free', tbh.

Well remember Arabella, THOSE protests including the threats, the intimidation and the violence are acceptable, described as 'peaceful' and are completely righteously justified!

The Lesbians who want to be able to define their own sexual boundaries are not acceptable, or justified at all in some people's view. Therefore they deserve to be excluded. They also seem to deserve to be attacked.

And remember that Bordeaux march? Where lesbians were threatened with fire (was it a flare?) as they march by a male who was incensed that women disagreed that they, a male, was a woman?

MandyMotherOfBrian · 21/06/2023 10:55

So why are they rocking up at events that organised by that movement for that movement?
Not sure what a TeaKlaxon is, but my IronyKlaxon just went off...

Look, crowds of hooded, masked men shouting at lesbians. So progress. Much kind.

"By all means - if the Get the L Out types want to organise their own pride they're entirely free to do so."

They did.

https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/womens_rights/4635845-lesbian-strength-march-in-leeds-cancelled-over-safety-fears

It was cancelled due to safety issues from extreme trans activists and Antifa. As have numerous women's events recently.

Another lesbian here looking forward to Pride season.

It's been great seeing the increase in women attending pride marches over the years.

I remember that thread on here about Get the L Out at Pride...one of the protesters was posting on it wasn't she? She was particularly disappointed by the number of women at Pride who spoke to her saying that they were uncomfortable with what 'Get the L Out' were doing.

Pride focuses on values of inclusion, so why people whose priority is exclusion would want to attend is a bit of a paradox really.

The 'exclusion' they seek though is to define their sexual orientation and their sexual boundaries.

Lesbians are total vagitarians.
I'm one.
men don't like it when we say no to cock

It must be tedious beyond measure, QueenHippolyta. But at least Tea has given Tea's permission for women to gather by themselves for a woman-only pride, so that's nice.

"Bollox. Lesbians have never been excluded from Pride. Transphobes, yes."

Glad to have this so clearly stated on this thread.

So, not only HAVE lesbians been excluded from Pride. Not as a whole entity, but individual groups. But also, any lesbian who disagrees with the premise that a male can be a lesbian is 'transphobic'.

As to 'why' lesbians would turn up and protest at Pride, well, that probably is that they are the lesbians who were there supporting Pride from the start and are now making a political stand that they believe that Pride now represents concepts that are harmful to lesbians. Hence they are protesting. Just like Fred Sergeant protested.

The extreme polarisation of the statement above is common. That of 'If you are not fully supportive of males being accepted as female people then you are transphobic'.

It might convince a few people still who are new to the discussion. However, it is a very tired tactic and the word 'transphobe' has become meaningless in the exaggerated over use to many adults.

This sentiment is somewhat at odds though with :

"If they want out of the movement they’re welcome to fuck off out of it."

Considering it was likely 'their' movement. And that Pride no longer stands to represent the interests of lesbians who disagree that males cannot become female people. Those lesbians might be very accepting of male trans people in situations where sex does not matter.

So, they are welcome to 'fuck off out it', but are 'transphobic' and "So why are they rocking up at events that organised by that movement for that movement?" (errr.... to protest it if they are not welcome to be there and Pride most likely made it very clear that they were not welcome there)

It does show that Pride and Pride members and supporters are not tolerant of anything but doctrinal thinking.

And seriously, "So why are they rocking up at events that organised by that movement for that movement?". Fucking hilarious considering the protests at any women's rally or meeting or any lesbian specific meeting or just any meeting for any homosexual or bisexual person who feels that they are not well represented by the groups supporting LGBT+. I suggest you go and tell that to those protesters. Particularly the ones who end up assaulting women (and children at one recently).

Livinginaclock · 21/06/2023 10:24

What's transphobic about being same sex attracted?
Since you say you're a lesbian wouldn't that make you transphobic too?

No one cares who you're attracted to. There's no questionnaire asking about who you're attracted to before you march in pride.

What matters for Pride is whether you're inclusive of the LGBT+ community.

If not, that's fine. Pride just isn't for you.

By all means - if the Get the L Out types want to organise their own pride they're entirely free to do so. I suspect the reason they won't be because the tens of thousands of lesbians marching at the likes of London Pride might dispel the myth that it is lesbians being oppressed when a few dozen of them rock up to their own pride.

ArabeIIaScott · 21/06/2023 10:31

What transphobia? Saying males can't be lesbians is just the simple truth, Tea.

I think if you try harder you can fit anotheer 'weirdo' or 'crank' into that post, Tea.

You seem angry. Why do you hate these lesbians so much?

Because I'm sick of lesbians being used, mainly by straight people, to pretend that there is some sort of validity to their transphobia.

Claiming lesbians are excluded from pride is just a flat out lie. We are not.

TeaKlaxon · 21/06/2023 06:55

Bollox. Lesbians have never been excluded from Pride. Transphobes, yes.

This lesbian will be joining in her local pride in a couple of weeks time. So no, we’re not excluded. Stop trying to equate lesbian with transphobe.

It's always worth remembering the general principle from the wise old owls at MNHQ:

"So we always ask users to remember that not everyone on the internet is who they say they are"

(sorry for any ageism there MHHQ) 😉

It is remarkable isn't it? We know another group who get so incensed by women disagreeing with them. The similarities are remarkable.

BigMaggieShoes · 21/06/2023 10:18

Interesting name T-Klaxon.

ArabeIIaScott · 21/06/2023 09:56

TeaKlaxon · 21/06/2023 07:05

Nope.

The tiny fringe group were not excluded because they never even sought to register. They joined the usual cranks and showed up to protest Pride instead.

As is their right, just like the weird god botherers who show up each year. But lesbians were completely welcome at Cardiff Pride and far far more lesbians marched than showed up for that weird little protest.

Incidentally the organisation was ‘get the L out’. Which is a bit bizarre - any lesbians who don’t want to be part of the LGBT+ movement don’t have to be. If they want out of the movement they’re welcome to fuck off out of it. So why are they rocking up at events that organised by that movement for that movement?

So does that have any impact on any charitable status the event might have, or council funding?

Woman2023 · 21/06/2023 07:46

So Teaklaxon, when you say you're a lesbian I take it you mean a same-sex attracted woman. Otherwise your point is meaningless in the context of this thread.

So do you agree that the word lesbian only applies to women and not men who identify as transwomen?

MrsOvertonsWindow · 21/06/2023 07:38

Thanks for that Slothtoes.

The policing of women by men continues. We know that all the men who claim to be lesbians are openly hostile to any woman who fails to validate them in all senses.

Slothtoes · 21/06/2023 07:34

The protests are because lesbians (women who solely love and are sexually attracted to other women) are fed up with their name and struggle being associated with a TQ+ politics that specifically targets and seeks to oppress lesbians and to dismantle lesbian culture, by pretending that men can be lesbians.

Anyone who hasn’t read the Get the L Out report, ‘Lesbians at Ground Zero’ to understand this, then this is essential but distressing reading: https://www.gettheloutuk.com/blog/category/research.html

This report shows that ‘lesbians are routinely being coerced into sexual relations with transwomen. The report includes findings of a survey which shows lesbians are under huge pressure within GBT communities to accept without question that “transwoman are women.” Lesbians who responded to the survey reported a wide variety of sexual violence by transwomen, including sexual harassment, sexual assault and rape.’
