'A female-only lesbian advocacy group in France was excluded from their local Pride parade on the basis that they did not allow the membership of trans-identified males. Femmes Entre Elles was labeled “transphobic” for restricting its advocacy to issues faced by women.
Femmes Entre Elles, which translates to “Women Among Themselves,” is a single-sex association for lesbian and bisexual women that has operated for over 30 years. It has been involved in campaigns to support women’s sex-based rights and the rights of lesbian women.
But on May 27, the group was informed via email that they were not welcome to participate in the annual Pride march in Rennes'

and to be clear "The teenagers trying to navigate the fucking mess you are creating can rely on schools to sort them out" is lesbians attempting to silence or to support (even by turning a blind eye) the silencing of and the shaming of and the ostracisation of those lesbians who HAVE experience what you deny, and the lack of an open public discourse about it.

And by that I mean excluding the women who define their sexual boundaries publicly to exclude all male people from Pride and other major LGBT+ events.

@ArabeIIaScott thank you Sister.

I've said this before. Way back around 2015 two transwomen ( men) in my Lesbian social group complained about my joking comment "Who wants to be a man?" I was thrown out until I apologized to them.
I had to and have never forgotten this male power play.
Men don't belong in female-only social groups whether it is Lesbian, WI, swimming and sports.

It's very tiny. Looks a bit like a croissant. I stand with all my croissant wielding sisters, in France and beyond!

@Helleofabore it's divide and conquer.
If men can keep us women from organizing together they can keep us subjugated and nowadays erased.
I love and ally with my straight and bisexual sisters. 💜

ArabeIIaScott · 21/06/2023 11:39

I believe the lesbians who have told me this has happened to them.

I stand with lesbians who want to protect their culture and their right to organise as same-sex attracted women.

'Some lesbians say they are increasingly being pressured and coerced into accepting trans women as partners - then shunned and even threatened for speaking out. Several have spoken to the BBC, along with trans women who are concerned about the issue too.'

Women holding hands

The lesbians who feel pressured to have sex and relationships with trans women

Some lesbians say they have been called transphobic for not wanting sex and relationships with trans women.

If this has actually happened anywhere this is of course wrong, and sex and relationship education classes should be working to enable young people to communicate assertively about their own individual sexual choices and preferences and to respond respectfully to the other people's declarations of their individual sexual choices and preferences.

These interactions of course necessarily happen at an individual level, as any person has to the right to knock back any individual, irrespective of whether the individual superficially fits into a grouping / orientation the person tends to have an interest in.

Oh. So now my personal anecdote is to be questioned.

It fucking happened. I have told you about it before I believe. And this was your response then too.

So, the school should be working to enable young people to voice their own sexual choices? Really?

So, not the adult lesbian community? The adult lesbian community who wish to remain aligned with Pride leave it to the schools? Not the dominant 'intersectional' lesbians who could actually make a huge difference?

Because why?

Is it because if you actually spoke out, maybe put that on placards and marched with that message, you would be ostracised too?

Or because, you are all right Jack. Nothing to do with me! The teenagers trying to navigate the fucking mess you are creating can rely on schools to sort them out.

And while we are at it, lets fucking silence and shame those women who are lesbians who are raising the alarms!

Everyone's entitled to define their own sexual orientation and boundaries, I don't know anyone within LGBT circles who disagrees with that; these are personal choices regarding sex lives that everyone makes.

I'm a lesbian and I don't want to sleep with 95% of other lesbians out there, that is my decision to make and nobody is going around saying that because I am a lesbian I am obliged to have sex with other lesbians or entitled to have sex with any other lesbian. But that is exactly the kind of bollocks that comes up about trans people.

Honestly the bollocks that is spoken about trans people demanding sex is, exactly that, bollocks.

Personal choices regarding sex lives happen at the individual level, not at a group or demographic level.

I have friends who are lesbians going out with transwomen and they have the right to determine their sexual choices and their labels...but some people bizarrely over-invested in the sex lives of others and possibly just quite controlling in general, appear to wish to take that from them.

Can you guess how often I've been pressured to sleep with a trans woman? Never.

Can you guess how often I've been interrogated by trans people about whether my sexual boundaries include trans women? Never.

In fact, the only people I have ever been asked 'ah but do you fancy trans women' are straight people who don't like trans people.

And yet, Suggestions those women who have defined their sexual boundaries are not allowed to March in Pride. Nor allowed to hold their own events without security risks.

And I am sure we have had this conversation before. You are an adult.

I have listened to a group of lesbian teenagers tell each other that they must accept girl-dick or they are transphobic. So there fucking well IS cause for concern out there no matter how much you deny now or in the past that there is.

Why should any teenager be pressured by their lesbian peers to accept 'girl-dick'? Why the fuck are you (general 'you' not you specifically) not out there telling them it is perfectly fine to say no and to publicly declare your boundaries? And saying no to fucking a DICK is quite ok and not transphobic at all.

Where is THAT message coming through loudly. It is not. That is the point.

I've made this point before regarding women and misogyny but same applies here.

Women who love and are sexually attracted to other women exist. We used to call these women lesbians. If we are no longer allowed to describe this sexuality as lesbian then lesbians are being denied the language they need to talk about their shared experiences. Denying lesbians the language they need to describe their own sexuality is homophobia.

Take a look at this Mr Menno video and notice how the men featured are desperate to ensure that women do not use language in any way that might distinguish us from the men wanting to be us.

🎶 Somatically Female (He's a man!) 🎶

Oh the word games men will play to convince us they are women! But actual women are having none of it...#JustSayMen________________________Please support my...

How disgusting for anyone to seek to alienate lesbians from Pride (.. just typing those words, I mean, WTF?)

No, Pride is not about just being ‘inclusive’ of everyone or some other #bekind shit. It was (and should still be able to be) about same-sex attracted people celebrating same-sex attraction, in a society which may range from being accepting of their sexual orientation, to hostile and violent toward lesbian, gay and bisexual people, because of their sexual orientation.

Any ‘Pride’ which denies same sex attraction in favour of gender identity politics is a complete homophobic, sexist, misogynistic travesty

Helleofabore · 21/06/2023 11:23

"Honestly the bollocks that is spoken about trans people demanding sex is, exactly that, bollocks."

Good to know though that on a feminist board that the women who have posted in the past about the pressure to have sex with males who declare they are lesbians, at least one told us they were raped by that male, is not to be believed.

Because.... obviously they are liars and it is just not happening.

Lesbians are women and our interests ally with women only.
even before the T, LGB groups were dominated and catered to gay men.

Women need to work together and assert our power; we have it!
We're 51% of the population.

Julia Long and Ann Ruzylo are true heroines... remember sainted Lily Madigan? what happened to him?

Sadly QueenH we are considered the 'wrong' women because of our own sexual orientation. Apparently, we cannot comment to support lesbians because that would be us using you to pretend there is some sort of validity to our alleged transphobia.

"Because I'm sick of lesbians being used, mainly by straight people, to pretend that there is some sort of validity to their transphobia."

Unfortunately, as in the case this thread is about, the mindset is evidently at the intersection of homophobia and misogyny.

yeah.... that protest seems all about freedom of choice for lesbians doesn't it?

Ever so righteous! Gosh.... "So why are they rocking up at events that organised by that movement for that movement?'
