I’ve no words tbh. Utterly disgusted by the misogyny.

Johns Hopkins used to be a spearhead centre for the treatment of transsexuals. Apparently now they're specialists in corporate lobotomies.

Ofcourseshecan · 12/06/2023 20:14

Interesting that they are so perfectly blatant. Man and non-man. Not the slightest pretence of belief in equality. We are what’s left when the real people are subtracted.

Presumably we are entitled to what’s left when the real people have taken what they want.

Piccalillipromises · 12/06/2023 16:50

So... According to John Hopkins university, if I, as a non-man, use a vibrator, which is also a non-man, I'm a lesbian? They might need to go back to the drawing board on that one.

CorruptedCauldron · 12/06/2023 16:42

No non-man no cry, no non-man no cry!

I can’t believe they’ve found an even more insulting term than cis - and they’re so brazen in making men the default humans that now women don’t even exist, they’re just lumped into the non-man category along with cats, dogs, fridges, radiators, pencils, cars and anything else that isn’t a man.

Well it’s high time for this madness to stop. Never mind Let Women Speak. Now it’s time to Let Non-Men Peak. This idiocy could drive more and more people to the summit, and not before time!

Even

That should say -

Even 5-10 years ago we had Always 'Like a Girl,' defying sexist stereotypes about doing (x) 'like a girl', and Volvo's campaign to reduce female car crash tests by using dummies that weren't just based off scaled-down men.

Now Nike is sponsoring a man playing up stereotypes of female athletes for laughs, and brands insisting female athletes are just scaled-down, hormonally altered men.

It's insane.

Sex categories are socially constructed are they? Despite the fact that animals without any capacity to socially construct them manage to reproduce.... ffs.

I really thought in that late 90s early 2000s that we'd made progress with the idea that men and women are not defined by or limited to social expectations based on an individual's sex. But nope, we're dragged back into this idea that how you behave or feel determines your identity and now your actual sex as well. Garbled anti-science tosh, the whole "glossary".

Of course, men are never non-women.

Nope, a male homosexual partnership will never be described as "a liaison between two non-women, blah blah".

Plus ca change, plus ca la meme chose.

EdithStourton · 12/06/2023 15:37

OH FUCK OFF JOHNS HOPKINS!

Call yourselves a university? With a medical school iirc? I was so incredulous and went and looking for the page myself in the hope that it was a photoshop job, but nope, you are that bloody stupid.

I thought 'cis woman' was more than bad enough, but NON-MAN?
When men are still, um, men?

What a bunch of arrogant, sexist, blinkered fools.

JayAlfredPrufrock · 12/06/2023 15:17

We knew it would come to this.

Men and non-men.

Still fucking Spartacus.

Worse to come...
...men and non-men becomes...just men.

Their definition of Lesbian isn't even logical as it can include non-binary people who identify as lesbian, but who weren't necessarily female at birth. So a male who identifies as non-binary and is attracted to 'non-men' can therefore identify as 'lesbian'.

@RubyTrees - They don't have definitions for trans man/woman. Presumably they don't exist any more either? It's just 'transgender'.

It's part of the FTM and MTF definition.

yetanotherusernameAgain · 12/06/2023 15:27

There's a Fox News story from mid-May that references the Johns Hopkins definition:

https://www.foxnews.com/lifestyle/lesbian-fights-claims-lesbians-non-men-attracted-non-men

Stonewall (UK) still uses the word 'woman' in their definition, so maybe it has originated in North America if it hasn't made it over to the UK yet.

MistyGreenAndBlue · 12/06/2023 15:26

In plain sight! In plain fucking sight!

Goddess I'm raging!

Handmaidens take note. They mean you too.

Non-men my arse!

FUCK OFF!

yetanotherusernameAgain · 12/06/2023 15:17

Bisexual is still allowed to exist, albeit in a mangled form, despite 'pansexual' being an alternative definition. Presumably it would be a step too far to erase one of the letters from LGBT.

Bisexual [sexual orientation]: A person who is sexually attracted to multiple genders, or who identifies as a member of the bisexual community. Often, but not limited to, being attracted to the same gender and other genders. May be shortened to “bi.”

SidewaysOtter · 12/06/2023 15:16

So...a gay man is a gay man but a gay woman is a non-man attracted to non-men.

How lovely that women are defined only by what they are not.

Hmm

loislovesstewie · 12/06/2023 15:05

So women are now 'non men'!!!! I'm also a non cat, non dog, non octopus etc. This is utterly disgusting. We are being erased.

Ingenieur · 12/06/2023 14:56

@mamakoukla

That's crazy... if "sex assigned at birth" is intended to replace "sex", then what do they reckon is being assignedat birth?

It's similar to "A transwoman is a woman".

No one can define what a woman is so what is a transwoman?

Here’s my positive take (I’m trying here) - it’s so absurd that it’s an own goal? Might peak more people etc.

It's a genius idea. We eradicate sexism by eradicating sex.

Why on earth didn't women think of this before.
