Am looking forward to tomorrow’s debate on the Equality Act. Anyone else planning to watch it?

'Britain is a deeply fascist, hateful country,'

because women want single sex spaces, services and sports without males in them.

They just can't stop or rein in their complete and utter hatred of women.

Oh dear, these people are FURIOUS

From that Twitter:

The trans hostile side was the usual litany of fact and evidence free hyperbole, hate, lies and misinformation on every cherry picked topic. That its still being entertained is a damning endictment of UK politics on all sides

Why not point out exactly what facts and evidence were missing? What were the lies and misinformation?

That its [it=any kind of rational view about trans issues] still being entertained is a damning endictment of UK politics on all sides.

an endictment - imagine!

'Britain is a deeply fascist, hateful country,'

The phrase 'first world problems' is pretty much made for this statement.

Britain is imperfect, of course, but it's a relatively prosperous and peaceful democratic country, and to call it 'deeply fascist' is a fucking insult to the victims of actual fascism, frankly.

I suspect another project was required once transition had gone as far as it could be taken

hence trans rights activism maybe?

IrenetheQuaint · 13/06/2023 21:41

I just had a look at RMW's transition blog, which I hadn't seen before. I didn't see the bits about sex but what really struck me was the pleasure RMW got out of being on a journey. The blog stops soon after the major transition surgery and I wonder if it was hard for RMW and other trans people to have got through all the exciting milestones and be back to living normal life, just in a different role and with more medical difficulties.

A bit like when you plan a really exciting holiday and spend months booking flights and hotels and buying stuff for it and imagining all your adventures, then you get there and realise you are just the same person who is actually pretty crap at adventures Grin

Clymene · 13/06/2023 21:08

I was being very circumspect in the way I wrote my post Bernard!

BernardBlacksMolluscs · 13/06/2023 20:46

Clymene · 13/06/2023 20:42

Shock I don't know who reported that but are we not allowed to discuss stuff that people have written on their public websites?

I did wonder that

I directly quoted RMW on the subject of 'proper, straight sex'.

BernardBlacksMolluscs · 13/06/2023 20:45

oh, I see my comment got deleted. let's just say that RMW's blog reveals a fair degree of internalised homophobia, and some fairly unrealistic expectations about what transition would do to their own and others sexual orientation.

I think RMW's expectations are unlikely to have been realised, and this has probably led to some bitterness

Why do TRAs fantasise so much about genital inspections? It's so creepy.

I have an answer to that but I'm not going to share it.

Iwanttoretire - I think it is difficult to see existing threads sometimes - not sure why this is. I use the app and don't always see all the current threads, so I think the person that set up this one probably had the same experience. I wish Mumsnet would allow pinned threads - that could help.

The search function is rullbbish too

GailBlancheViola · 13/06/2023 11:23

IwantToRetire · 12/06/2023 16:45

Not sure why this thread was set up as already posted yesterday there was an existing thread with background material.

Would have been more sisterly to have not continued this thread then!

But too late now.

Are you a teacher @IwantToRetire ? You speak to posters on this site as if they are a bunch of naughty schoolchildren who you are trying to coral into line.

It really doesn't matter if there is more than one thread on a subject, to jump to it being 'not sisterly' whatever the fuck that is is ridiculous, it really doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things which thread individual posters post their thoughts and opinions on. We are adults and can decide for ourselves do, please, stop talking down to us and trying to control where posters post or what threads they start you are not the Head Honcho of MN or this board.

Again, I have a smidge of sympathy for RMW here. They have been caught up in (and are guilty of perpetuating) the complete lie that if you do xyz then you will qualify, or pass, or have the legal status of a women. It just isn't true and they can rail and rant against it but at some point they will have to acknowledge that you cannot force other people to believe something they just don't. No matter what you pay/go through/chop off/add on/wear you are still male and will be all of your life. So sad to waste so much energy fighting it.

Absolutely this!

Boiledbeetle · 12/06/2023 17:47

😁

JanesLittleGirl · 12/06/2023 17:47

I've seen a number of references to RMW's surgery. Was that a total empathy bypass?

I look slightly masculine and can assure you it's never been a problem. Please don't continue to tell me it will be hard for me, Mishy, as it's not true.

I'd have to be questioning myself every time I look in the mirror if it was the case!

FriendofJoanne · 12/06/2023 17:05

Me too - I have both open! No biscuits though, need to stop eating them as I gained too much weight with all the sex and gender nonsense stressing me out

flit back and forth between threads in search of the best biscuits?
