Can anyone please shed light on this?! The last time I checked only women can get periods & it's been that way since time began! Am I seriously missing something?

do nhs records get changed when someone 'transitions'

just wondering if they will now have to invite everyone over a certain age for smear tests as some of the men won't be biological men. Does everyone now get invited for prostate exams?

anyone know?

Have you got nothing else to direct your anger to. There’s far bigger problems in the world. Who cares what word is used
Words matter. George Orwell (I think) said that if you wish to destroy a culture, first destroy it's language. If the word 'woman' is taken from us, how can we describe our common experiences as women? How can we describe the ways we are opressed as women if the term 'woman' includes men?

Are you a menstruator or an ejaculator?

Timefordrama · 09/06/2023 13:59

I've just emailed them to ask them to explain what's wrong with using the word woman when talking about periods and will share their reply when it comes
I'm guessing they'll miss the point entirely.

Moonandstarz · 09/06/2023 13:59

@Lcb123 the only was women are going to get our rights back is by talking, sharing stories such as above & raising awareness...
But plenty of people seem to want us silenced & focus on "bigger problems in the world". I wonder why they is.... 🤔

Words make laws.

It's possible to care about more than one thing at a time, and talking about one of them on a web forum does not mean that nothing else is important. Obvs.

When you have bearded, fully penised trans women (men) suing a business because they told them they were not allowed to go to the naked women spa (their words) and the business loses - there is legitimately no greater threat to women at the moment than the trans community. We are being erased, degraded, assaulted, insulted and told that we don't matter.

BinturongsSmellOfPopcorn · 09/06/2023 13:51

"there is no MENstruation without men"

Well obviously - there is nothing without men, we all know that. Can leave the poor things out of anything.

so effectively only trans women are women. The rest of us are cis women, chest feeders, menstruators, baby breeders - but not just women.

There's even an emoji for that --> 🫃

https://emojipedia.org/pregnant-man/

That’s a shorthand emoji for ‘do you want an Indian takeaway tonight?’ I use to my Dh. Amazing takeaway with big portions that are too delicious to refuse.

forgotmyusername1 · 09/06/2023 13:30

do we get to call men sperm ejaculators?

ScottBakula · 09/06/2023 13:30

If I had green periods I would be round to the doctors bloody sharpish !

Yes WTF is this menstrual community? Why wasn't I invited in? (Too late now) My daughter could have an invite though. Are there parties?

Yes there is a shocking lack of celebration of our victimhood. I'm thinking we could get a special month every year...or even better, how about one week in four? Maybe all the big corporations could fundraise for endometriosis research or something. Flags, ribbons, lanyards etc. It would be so cool.

turbonerd · 09/06/2023 12:56

Hahaha 😹 within the menstrual community!

Jog on mate 😄 off you fuck 😸

Wait. Am I not within the «menstrual community» anymore then?

Moonandstarz · 09/06/2023 12:48

@ScottBakula at the same time more & more biological woman are being excluded from being women! When will this madness stop! What is it actually going to take?

ScottBakula · 09/06/2023 12:44

I wonder when they will start offering women testicular cancer checks , you know just to make sure they really are all inclusive 🙄

mumda · 09/06/2023 12:32

"Not only have our cramps reduced with reusables, but we also haven’t spent a penny or sent a single product to the landfill in 10 years!"

From their website.
Incredible claim there that reusables help with cramps.

IcakethereforeIam · 09/06/2023 12:20

What do they even do? They don't seem to provide period products. What a waste of time they are. I expect they produce nothing and exist purely on grants and marketing.

gogohmm · 09/06/2023 12:15

Great comments below the line on the Twitter feed!

I'm a woman, only biological women have periods. Period!
