Can anyone please shed light on this?! The last time I checked only women can get periods & it's been that way since time began! Am I seriously missing something?

What idiots they are.

The definition of that disgusting dehumanising word they’ve posted is not even using “inclusive” language either as it contains Latin.

Fucking stupid woman-hating arseholes.

BreviloquentBastard · 10/06/2023 09:29

Gosh how dehumanising. I'm not part of the "menstrual community" for god's sake.

Interesting how men don't need to be redefined as the Ejaculation Squad or something isn't it?

BabyStopCryin · 10/06/2023 09:24

It’s a strange state of affairs when we are make bodied folks pretending they menstruate and female bodied folks pretending they don’t.

doenst change the fact of monthly bleeding does it?

InterestingUsernameTBC · 10/06/2023 09:13

Female people exist. That is people with bodies organised around the production of large, immobile gametes, whether or not they actually produce said gametes. Such people form a coherent group with the shared characteristic of being female. We used to call this group of people women (and girls for youngsters). To tell this group of people they can no longer call themselves women is to deny women the language we need to talk about ourselves as a group, our shared experiences and shared discriminations. It is to deny us the language that links us to all other women throughout the world, throughout history and throughout our lifetimes.

It is misogynistic to the core.

Yesiamtiredactually · 10/06/2023 08:42

But their own mission statement is either contradictory or admits it excludes women that do not menstruate? It’s gender inclusive but not people inclusive. It reads like it’s more important to include a trans woman than it is to include a woman who has gone through the menopause or doesn’t have periods for any other reason? If I no longer menstruated then the term ‘menstruators’ would literally not apply to me, and would not be all inclusive at all. The same as ALL terms aren’t all inclusive!

One of the Twitter comments (sorry I can’t manage to copy it)

Respect my pronouns while I call you a chest feeder and birthing human

I see that account has been suspended, though I don't know if it was because of that comment.

Yes, some brilliant responses to that tweet in the thread. And the most decisive ratio I can recall seeing, too!

By “research”, I mean “Google”, of course.

Maybe Martian men have periods which are green.......just a thought.

Apropos of not very much, this post inspired me to research periods in space. Happily the words “woman” and “female” appear to have their traditional meanings in the extraterrestrial community.

How women can deal with periods in space

We are only starting to understand the impact of space travel on women’s health. But a new study has just made it easier for astronauts to decide whether they want to stop their periods.

When you have bearded, fully penised trans women (men) suing a business because they told them they were not allowed to go to the naked women spa (their words) and the business loses - there is legitimately no greater threat to women at the moment than the trans community. We are being erased, degraded, assaulted, insulted and told that we don't matter.

Did that really happen?

JamSandle · 09/06/2023 18:01

Why do these people even want periods anyway? If they had a real one they'd realise its nothing something you'd want!

ApocalipstickNow · 09/06/2023 18:00

Green periods?

Everyone knows periods are blue.

It looks more like a bloke celebrating what the Germans call 'beer muscle'.

Have you got nothing else to direct your anger to. There’s far bigger problems in the world. Who cares what word is used
Words matter. George Orwell (I think) said that if you wish to destroy a culture, first destroy it's language. If the word 'woman' is taken from us, how can we describe our common experiences as women? How can we describe the ways we are opressed as women if the term 'woman' includes men?

The redefining of the words "women" and "girls" is not just a little thing. Trophies and records, that should rightfully belong to women, are being given instead to male-bodied people. This is because, having convinced the general public that it's no big deal to say TWAW, tautological (aka meaningless) statements ("Trans women should be in womens sports because they are women") are being presented as if they were "reasoning."

Via the same redefinition of the word woman, the swimmers at UPenn were expected to disrobe in front of a biological male, their privacy and dignity taken from them. It is truly shocking that so many people, even other women, will no longer support the right of women to participate equally in society while keeping their naked bodies from the view of men. This is a very big thing!!!!!

Moonandstarz · 09/06/2023 17:26

So basically speaking Green Periods is a company for women supplying menstruation products for women who get their periods. No need for the Alphabet Soup GP, just don't alienate your target audience!

"Not only have our cramps reduced with reusables, but we also haven’t spent a penny or sent a single product to the landfill in 10 years!"

From their website.
Incredible claim there that reusables help with cramps.

Actually I do use cloth pads from bloom and Nora and my cramps are better. And periods generally better overall. This company is still full of bollocks though

thatsn0tmyname · 09/06/2023 17:09

Is there green semen? Or are only periods affected?
