The problem here is that there are genuine safeguarding concerns about the Target Pride collection, which any reasonable person would balk at. Anti-gay and anti-trans people will use these real issues to drive a backlash against LGB and trans people. We (LGB and trans) people need to kick the fetishists and puppy players out of the Pride parades and shout a big "hell no" to anyone who wants to label a child and reinstate safeguarding based on an understanding that children should be protected from having adult concepts of sexuality and gender identity imposed on them and that sexual orientation and (lack of) gender identity are for the child to figure out in their own time.

Gay acceptance isn't putting a baby in a "gay" onsie, it's telling that child that you will love them regardless of their sexual orientation.

Asking in good faith- how do you keep up with all the women’s rights activists and gender critical feminists you feel you have to disparage and attack? Seriously it's like someone new is targeted every week. Do you make lists of women and their supporters that speak for women’s rights or put up 💚🤍💜 ribbons, etc?

🤷🏽‍♀️

You know perfectly well it is nothing about rainbow flags. From what I saw of the products people were complaining about it was everything from breastbinders to pedophilia material

I've had a look online. The binders and tuck-friendly swimwear is only sold in adult sizes. The video claiming otherwise misrepresented the situation, describing an adult swimsuit as being from the children's section. (It might have been found there, but that doesn't mean it was meant to be there.)

I object to the child and baby clothing with statements like "gay" and "queer" on them. Children aren't aware of their sexuality until puberty and labelling them beforehand is inappropriate because no one can predict the future. We don't put kids in clothes that say "straight", so this isn't about being homo/bi/transphobic, it's about respecting a child's right not to be sexualised at a young age.

In principle, I support genderless clothing for prepubescent children because there's nothing wrong with a boy liking ponies or a girl liking trains and there's no substantial body shape difference at stage of development. Clothing at that age should all be in one section marked "children's". The Pride collection fails in its execution by giving genderless clothes a different and equally pointless set of labels. Labelling the clothes as "non-binary" or "trans" or "queer" is inappropriate because again this is labelling children too early. Many children questioning their gender identity stop during puberty, so let them go through puberty before expecting them to pick labels.

So yes, if I lived state-side, I'd join this boycott, not because I dislike LGB or trans people, but because I think that applying queer theory and sexuality labels to children is flat wrong and harmful to the children.

Asking in good faith- how do you keep up with all the stores and products you have to boycott? Seriously it's like something new every week. Do you make lists of companies that sell LGBT products or put up rainbow flags etc?

You seem to assume a boycott of all things LGBT-related by materialist feminists, when in fact the Target boycotters are largely so-called "alt-right" and religious conservatives. I will proudly refuse to spend my money with any company that supports the child sterilisation advocates known as "Mermaids". This list is likely to stay short as the extent of Mermaids' improper behaviour in respect of sending binders to children and lying about meetings with GIDS comes out and companies back away. Mermaids supporters are the only companies who I will boycott.

I will also, for my own protection, not buy from a company whose business practices place women at risk. Do not mistake this for a boycott, a boycott is done because of principles, not self-protection. Selling to male transitioners does not have to mean endangering women. My bra vendor sells to transitioning males and I still shop there because the fitting rooms provide sufficient privacy and the fitters are all female.

I wonder how many LGB people in the USA might sympathise with or even join the boycott of Target? Many LGB and trans people have criticised how we and our fights for civil rights are exploited through the commercialisation of Pride. When companies splatter rainbows on everything and set up stalls at Pride events, they take advantage of all the work done by us and our forebears in making it "OK to be gay" and come along to reap the profits only when it is safe for them, once "OK to be gay" is no longer controversial. Like the alt-right neo-cons same old misogynists of that "music" video and the religious conservatives, I find myself sick of Pride, but for very different reasons: I'm sick of being exploited for profit. Where were Barclays Bank when I was growing up under Section 28? I feel like the rainbow flag has been stolen from me by companies who would drop it again as soon as it ceased to be profitable. Maybe these Target boycotters will do me an unintentional favour by getting fauxtivist companies to stop usurping a flag that was never theirs to monetise.

An American beauty youtuber I follow on instagram put up a sponsored post about an item that was launching in Target this week, I was shocked that about 90% of the comments were people saying that they were boycotting Target

Do not mistake the alt far right for materialist feminists.

Apparently a previous song has the lyric:

"Got like two bitches fucking two bitches. That’s four bitches in my trailer. Yeah, I nutted in all them bitches."

So he isn't necessarily consistent with either GC or conservative values. But that's pro lesbian I guess.
