What is their problem with Skye from Paw Patrol? That was weird. Do they think she's a boy dog and have a problem with a boy dog wearing pink?

Doing well in the country charts:

Lyrics

They've torn Portland all to pieces
And let Chicago go to hell
There's people leaving New York City
Like they rang the fire bell

Well they call themselves enlightened
But cancel those who don't agree
I wish all these folks
Who claim they're woke
Would just go back to sleep

I'm just sayin'
Have we all lost our minds?
I'm just sayin'
Where Do we draw the line?

And I know ya'll think it takes balls
To be singing what I'm singing
But I'm just sayin', I'm just sayin'
What you're thinkin'

I believe in live and let live
We're all free to each their own
If you were born a he
But wanna be a she
Do your thing but leave my kids alone

I'm just sayin'
Have we all lost our minds?
I'm just sayin'
Where Do we draw the line?

And I know ya'll think it takes balls
To be singing what I'm singing
But I'm just sayin', I'm just sayin'
What you're thinkin'

We send 'em off to college
To get 'em educated
They send 'em back to us indoctrinated
And how much are we paying

I'm just sayin'
Have we all lost our minds?
I'm just sayin' (oh, I'm just sayin')
Where Do we draw the line?

No offense but common sense
Is the direction that I'm leanin'
Some of ya'll think it takes balls (I'm just sayin')
To be singing what I'm singing
But I'm just sayin', I'm just sayin' (what I'm just sayin')
What you're thinking

Yeah, what you're thinking (what you're thinkin')

I've been listening to this on Spotify and it hasn't appeared in my 'On Repeat' list, despite other new (to me) songs that I've listened to less being there.

I know Spotify is able to block songs from appearing in these lists because it does it with Christmas songs - presumably to prevent them filling up the list in January when people won't want them there.

I really don't like the idea of blocking songs because they're controversial. If I listen to it a lot, I want it to appear on my list of frequently played songs!

Protestants? Do you mean Episcopalians? Southern Baptists? Independent Baptist? Lutherans? Methodists? Presbyterians? Unitarians? Pentecostal? Non denominational? Congregationalists? Restorationists? Reformed? Anabaptist? Adventist?

FifteenQuarter · 02/06/2023 16:00

Has anyone watched Amazon's Shiney happy people, it's just dropoed?

It confirms that protestants in the USA used parallel tactics in USA schools as trans activists like the Target designer used.

The Digger son is currently in prison dating a male who is trans identified, so people are ignoring there may have also been an issue with his brothers.

James Lindsay was correct about the Christian nationalism and trans activists.

Valeriekat · 02/06/2023 06:55

@ lanadelgrey
I believe target were also at the forefront of allowing men in women's changing rooms and toilets. They are deeply enmeshed.

Where were Barclays Bank when I was growing up under Section 28?

Investing in an apartheid South Africa.

Brilliant both of you! Rainbow washing their past away!

Helleofabore · 01/06/2023 23:25

Indeed delph. And neither their binders nor the Tomboy site have health warnings.

Considering the health warnings on pharmaceuticals, this is egregious.

Delphinium20 · 01/06/2023 18:54

The local news in the US has failed to mention Target is selling packers and binders. One sexualizes and warps a tween's perception of reality, the other is a tool for self-harm. Both should be illegal for children. Target won't sell guns in their stores and they lock up razors, yet these are readily available for anyone with $.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 01/06/2023 18:08

transpeople to use the changing rooms as is their legal right under the EA

It isn't. It's not actually covered by the EA, and exemptions exist to the general presumption that all spaces can be used by anyone.

https://www.newsweek.com/lego-faces-boycott-calls-over-transgender-building-sets-1803239

And Flora and M&S (after they ended their sponsorship with MN), the NSPCC (tbh not sure how you boycott a child protection org), New Zealand, Bud, Nike and most sports brands, Primark because they permit transpeople to use the changing rooms as is their legal right under the EA, Wagamama(for displaying a flag), Target, and now Lego. And there's probably a bunch of others I missed.

And yes I have seen posts on here where members complain en-mass to shops that have a pride flag in the window. The one with the triangle part; which you may be interested to know also has colours representing people of colour, people affected by AIDs as well as the trans community.

If you boycott ever single place that remotely shows any support for gay+trans people that must make shopping difficult? June is coming up so expect to see a lot more pride flags.

If I ran a business I would keep a pride flag up all year round, if it makes me lose 0.2% of customers who are gender critical I'd be more than happy with that, at least it would help keep my premises a safe space.

Ha ha ha ha ha…

☀️☺️😉

BonfireLady · 31/05/2023 18:44

Ha ha! Indeed. Good old typos.

We got in this mess by not talking about things that are uncomfortable. The only way to find some way of everybody being happy is to actually talk about the situation!

Totally agree. Although weirdly I'm toggling between this thread and another where talking is being discouraged. Talking to a TW who has a different viewpoint when it comes to women's spaces, that is - instead we should apparently shut her down because she sounds too reasonable and can't be trusted. In the same why as I could hold firm on my views that TW do not belong in women's spaces and services etc (and I would point out that the only solution is third spaces) I am also capable of distancing myself from the message that this band is pushing out. In both cases I can articulate where we have a common view and where we differ. I'm sure most people on this board could. Conversations (and conversions?* 😉😂) can only take place if people talk reasonably to each other about uncomfortable things.

  • A universal conversion to third spaces and an acceptance of the reality of biology alongside a gender identity belief is the only viable way forward. Then TW can get on celebrating their trans joy in public, without trampling all over everyone else's boundaries and contributing towards the confusion and sterilisation of adolescents. Any who do have a fetish can keep it where all fetishes belong (in private with consenting adults), the same as any people do who aren't trans.
Boiledbeetle · 31/05/2023 18:26

Glad you realised i meant conversations and not actual conversions. I really should check before posting!

Although those conversations may lead to some conversions of people's stance so even better!

I'm not about to discuss the political or religious leanings of an American band of men. However it is an incredibly catchy tune. Even after you've still got it going around in your head.

And boycotting companies works best when you have something catchy.

If you are a certain age you may remember Baby Milk Actions "Nestles kills babies" slogan.

That like this advert made people stop and go "what???" Then you can discuss the situation with someone.

So i may not agree with their thoughts on many things, or even their reasons for doing this, but it will start conversions with people who aren't aware of what's happening. And I can live with that.

An interesting and valid point. The more conversations that are had, the better. And in these conversations, any distancing that anyone wants to do from the "don't say gay" teaming is also possible. In fact, it's a good talking point in itself, to completely counter the biased flow of articles from the BBC, Guardian, i and the like.

I meant to say the two piece bathing suits with the "light binding effect" not stand alone binders. I believe they only sell those online. There were no swimsuits at all so I can't say whether they were kid sized. The tee shirts and other stuff were only marked for toddlers or adults. The extra small for adults was very small. If a person wanted something for an eight year old, they'd have no trouble finding something to fit no matter what the tag says.

Thanks Murica.

https://thepostmillennial.com/target-launches-trans-merch-for-kids-as-well-as-chest-binders-packing-underwear

This is from last year, I think..

I have looked and there are no safety warnings on the binders. Or they are hidden away. On either the target site or the Tomboyx site. This is very harmful indeed.

And yes, adult means little. As a 12 year old, I would have been fitting into this gear. Some girls I know now fitted into ‘adult’ sizes at 10. ‘Adult’ sizing is meaningless in this context. Same for tween aged boys.

Target launches trans merch for kids as well as chest binders, ‘packing underwear’

Target state that the tucking swimsuits are adult-sized only. Target still sell TomboyX binders in adult sizes on their website.

Thanks. I am checking with Murica as to what they saw.

That target sell binders is very concerning. It normalises a product that causes harm to bodies and I doubt they have massive health warnings all over them. I frankly don’t care that they are only in ‘adult’ sizes. I started wearing ‘adult’ sizes at 12.

FifteenQuarter · 31/05/2023 15:41

Most people don't like these binder/tucking items, they don't like men with a fetish advertising sanitary items to their daughter and they don't like what's being taught in school. It's a push in many countries.

Some don't like the fact that the woke graduates who were taught at university (not talking about Stock types) and are implanting ESG morals. They are in advertising, literature, the media, public relations, crisis management everywhere and doing a bad job compared to those a generation ago. Some say it's because they are edgy, that's their opinion.

Revealed: Trans activist who stormed Kathleen Stock's speech

Riz Possnett, 19, staged the most outlandish protest during today's Oxford Union talk by Professor Kathleen Stock by sitting glued in front of the stage.

Were the swimmers for children tuck friendly then?

Were they selling binders?

That was me! I was very disappointed to find that thread deleted before I had a chance to read the rest of it. And yes, toddler sizes were on the same racks as adult sizes. Some items were not marked as kid sizes but they were clearly kid sized. They must have removed the bathing suits and the binders because there weren't any at all. Some racks were pretty sparse.

Are Target like Walmart (I see Tampax and Bud light in the video)?

Walmart owned Asda when this happened.

"Love has no age limit". In an educational pack for schools. Jesus Christ.

We need a new slogan. "Protect LGBT youth: kick paedos out of Pride."

Probably half the country, or more, share the GC concern with child transitioning or pushing gender ideology on children.

Bud lights share price fell by over 20%
