Claiming people who highlight the risks of medical transition are just uncomfortable with anything that isn't cisheteronormative.

No mention of infection risk, ongoing need to dilate neo vaginas, phalloplasty grafts or anything whatsoever about the harm to children on puberty blockers.

No it's all dismissed as 'bigots are uncomfortable with men having breasts'.

I presume the article is written by a psychologist rather than a doctor or anyone with training in medical research?

I am confused, I thought the vast majority of TW remain intact so why the hand wringing about having to spend longer on cross sex hormones prior to surgery?

It's almost as if 'trans healthcare ' is being made up as they go along with no evidence base of either benefit or harm. Individuals are being completely failed and it is not because of the 'cisnormative' gatekeepers.

Yes I'm fully aware of the James Esses case (UKCP) and how captured the BACP are since I'm a BACP member and receive their monthly rag in the post which I've taken a photo of for you.

Can't say more because I don't know more. Just relaying what I was told.

I know that I have made some pretty pointless posts but I have to take my hat off to you for this one.

IWillNoLie · 30/05/2023 17:53

I would say more, but I am not allowed to say more than that.

According to someone I know with connections to Metanoia there's more to Esses' story than appears in his account but she said she wasn't allowed to say more than that.

According to someone I know who has a cousin who was taught by someone who was married to the nanny of a administrator who went for a job interview at Metanoia, James Essex is actually a genius five year old who runs an underground stamp collecting syndicate funded by a Bhuddist monastery in Tibet that has a cunning plan to have a turnip elected as president of USA….

Dinopawus · 30/05/2023 17:41

What do BACP make of the people who want "just one more procedure" to be truly happy, I wonder?

Because trust me, it ain't all glitter and unicorns when surgery doesn't magically solve psychological issues.

Oh, how mysterious and subtly shaming, alluding to nothing but implying all!

Have you seen this article @keikothewhale https://www.jamesesses.com/p/the-ideological-capture-of-psychotherapy?r=clsg2

Annaissleeping · 30/05/2023 16:46

Yes, never mind the persistent uti's, fissures, the risk of needing a stoma, the vaginal atrophy, chronic scar pain, skin grafts, hair growing where it shouldn't and risk of potential death, etc, etc. Really, we could go on.

Fenlandia · 30/05/2023 15:05

Of course, if some men are sad because they can't get breast implants, it's the fault of cs trfs, basically.

Yep they're totally captured. Doubling down against all evidence to the contrary. Where's the article from?
