Sir Ed said: "The truth is, Mary, the vast majority of people whose biological sex is a woman when they were birthed - they feel they're women. "They feel they're gendered the same as at birth but there is a very small number of people who don't feel like that, and the law has recognised them for over 20 years now."
He added: "There's a small number of people who, actually, they have a tough time. They're harassed, they're discriminated against; real, serious mental health issues, and I think we need to debate this...with a bit more maturity and a bit more compassion."
Pressed further by LBC's Nick Ferrari on whether women can in fact have a penis, Sir Ed responded: "Quite clearly."

Good to know. Where can I claim my free penis? and all the privilege that having a penis entails

There’s dicks everywhere so you shouldn’t have much trouble picking one up 😂

when they were birthed

What a twat.

VaddaABeetch · 23/05/2023 19:13

Is there a 3 for 2 offer on penis anywhere at all? I like to get a bargain.

the Clearly reminds me of the old joke. Man goes to the doctor wearing clingfilm for underpants. Doctor says ‘well I can clearly see you’re nuts’.

Well at first I thought he was talking absolute shite - but then he added 'clearly' and suddenly his utterances were imbued with wisdom and credibilityHmm What is it with politicians and their deluded belief in the alchemical powers of the word 'clearly' to transform their verbal turds into vote-winning gold?
We see you, you absolute tools.

I suppose it's the politician's 'end of'.

'some women have penises. End of'.

Well I've got one. It's purple and I keep it in the bedside drawer.

😆

RavingStone · 23/05/2023 18:52

The sheer entitlement of a man first telling women what it feels like to be a woman, and then telling women that he includes some males in the category"woman" thereby denying women a name for the category of human that they are.

Badgeringabout · 23/05/2023 18:51

SunnyEgg · 23/05/2023 17:17

They are pretty much the same as the Lib Dems just hoping people won’t ask or talk about it.

I’m glad Ed Davey answered at least people can’t deny it. Keir Starmer needs the same question.

I think that Labour are worse in fact.

Badgeringabout · 23/05/2023 18:50

Skyellaskerry · 23/05/2023 17:12

@Badgeringabout and Labour thinks no one is really bothered about the issue, more fool them.

Yes Labour will definitely pay dearly for such stupidity.

ScrollingLeaves · 23/05/2023 18:49

"Debate it with more maturity and compassion."

Indeed, Ed. And may I add, intelligence?

Joining the queue for my woman's penis looks around hopefully

JanesLittleGirl · 23/05/2023 18:23

Mischance · 23/05/2023 18:19

Whence cometh this phantom penis?

Politicians, people in the public eye and corporations are terrified to say the "wrong" thing now, even if it flies in the face of logic. How did we get here?

There is no problem about respecting people's wishes (as long as others do not come to harm) and kindness is the order of the day. But stating as fact things that are nonsense helps no-one.

CriticalCondition · 23/05/2023 18:16

Crapatoa · 23/05/2023 17:03

Yes. It's called Ed.

😂😂

littlbrowndog · 23/05/2023 18:13

How can these politicians say that with a straight face. That women have penis is

are they all totally stupid

honestly people should point at them who say that and laugh at them

Datafan55 · 23/05/2023 18:09

The sheer crap that comes out of people's mouths these days!

The sheer fury of some of my 'woke' fb friends if I posted the article on my feed with 'idiot' above it would also be sheer (terrifying) crap.

BridasShieldWall · 23/05/2023 18:06

Crapatoa · 23/05/2023 17:03

Love this 😆

Any talk of women having a penis always puts me in mind of Loretta Bobbit.

Does ‘I think we need to debate this...with a bit more maturity and a bit more compassion." actually mean ‘You’ve been told a million times that TWAW, so just STFU and accept it.’

😀 to Loretta Bobbit

and I completely agree with your second paragraph.

Who can I vote for now?

AnyFucker · 23/05/2023 17:53

Thick as mince

ApocalipstickNow · 23/05/2023 17:49

A little too clearly in them pink leggings.

But still none are women.

Allthegoodnamesarechosen · 23/05/2023 17:29

‘Serious mental health problems’ isn’t that transphobic?

stating that someone with chest hair, XY chromosomes and a penis has mental health problems if they think they are female?

Naughty naughty.

Justme56 · 23/05/2023 17:29

I get the impression (like Labour) that he thinks that organisations are actually using the single sex exceptions - something else he’s got wrong.
